Hi!

Yesterday I have had an issue with the PanoCamAdder and krpano.
The problem was, the rotation values were always totaly wrong.
After long trial and error I found the problem:
The panorama was remappt in krpano, while creating the tiles. Not sure why, but I think it was because of the north-setting in the exif-data.

How to fix it:
Set the "autolevel" setting in the basicsettings.config to "prealign".

Hi!

It mostly happens when another language than English is selected in blender.
Hopefully I can fix it for the next release. For now you have to switch back to English.

Best regards !

Hi panoyun,
thanks for your feedback!

If you have a specific question about the workflow, feel free to ask here. *smile*

And if you are totally new to Blender, I recommend to watch the 'Blender Fundamentals' video-playlist from the Blender YouTube channel.

Best regards!

@Mische

Why rotate the panorama??

What is the meaning of rotating the panorama in PanoName_HANDLE?

I was looking at the tutorial and I saw that you had rotated panoramas and I didn't understand why you were doing that,

Mostly I rotate the first panorama to fit it to the 3D space.
Means: To align the walls of a room (for example) to the x- and y-axis.
This is optional but high recommended, because it makes modeling much more comfortable.
YouTube

If you want to add more panorams to your model, you must(!) rotate them to fit the new panorama to the model.

PanoCamAdder+ 1.1

New version available:
Gumroad 5+€

  • Bugfix: Sometimes wrong values (opposite sign) for the vertical axis.
  • New hotspot placeholder: The new placeholder has the same direction as other objects now. Theoretically you can use every object as hotspotplaceholder now. But I recommend to use the new 'add Hotspot object', because there is frontside, backside easier to point out!
  • Dimensions: The dimensions of the objects are now translated to krpano- width and height. Means: You can add a placeholder, rotate and scale it to get a hotspot-code with correct width- and height values!
  • New hotspot codes:
HS raw: name; width; height; tx; ty; tz; rx; ry; rz.
HS rectangle: Same as 'raw' + some style to get an instant hotspot design. You can choose bgcolor and bgalpha before printing!
HS circle: Same as 'rectangle' + bgroundedge (half size from the shorter length).
HS image: Add images as hotspot (enable 'Add images as planes' first).

Features Video (YouTube)

The update is for free (you should have recieved an email).

Happy blending! *smile*

QuickTutorial

Hi!
Easier tour-workflow with PanoCamAdder+1.1:
If all cameras are placed in one single model, no seperated „Tour-blend“ file is needed to get the krpano-values.

Ckeck my latest tutorials here.

PanoCamAdder+1.2

This is a small but important update.
  • The 'Make ExportReady' operator works now correct for the horizontal axis, too.
  • Some UI optimations.

Means: You can level your panoramas with Blender. But best practise is still to use well straightend panorams.

I have tested this here:

The update is for free (you should have recieved an email).

Best regards!

Feeling defeated ...

Hi, I spent all day yesterday trying to export a simple model from Blender using PanoCamAdder+ The model is a single room/pano with doors on three walls and no hotspots. It looks fine in Blender but when I export for krPano, the doors appear as black rectangles that are too small and also seem to be raised above the floor. I've gone through all tutorials / videos and have ensured krpano settings are "autolevel=prealign" as per above post. I've hit the virtual wall! *cursing*
Any chance you could look at my blender room (<1MB) and resulting tour to see what I'm missing? WeTransfer link: https://we.tl/t-m8R6OhhJor
Any advice appreciated! Thx, Scott

Hi Scott!

I will take a look. Can you please send the equirectangular panorama, too?
Easiest way to pack it into the blend-file:
Go to 'File/ External Date/ Pack All Into .blend'

Best regards!

Sorry for delay (no email alert setup) and Thank You so much for taking a look! I've repackaged .blend with external resources and I've included the full resolution source pano in a new zip here: https://we.tl/t-OD2xsnJo0i
Looking forward to your insight!
Cheers, Scott

Hi Scott!

I have tested your file. Not sure what was going wrong there.. (maybe two different panoramas for blender and krpano? Or remapping in KRPano because of gps/north datas in the exifdatas?) Anyways.. I started with a new blend-file from scratch. It works!

Watch a screencast on YouTube, if you like.
Or download the stl frome here.

Best regards!
