Another 3d example

Hi,

I find it a bit of a pity that not so many people show what they make or try/experiment.
So i decided to show one more.

After making 'Casa Tuur', i started this tech studie and worked on it in 2020 for some weeks.
I didn't finish it, spend no time on vr etc.. but i think it is rather nice.. at least some effect is there i think... also on mobile.
i spiced it a bit with some zFilter plugin effect in the beginning... and some 'basic' krpano features.
I learned more about blender, which took me 90% of the time, and the great Panocamadder (by Mische / Michael), and also what not to do (for now) .. haha.
Indeed.. i am not the best modeller .. haha.

Hope you enjoy,
Tuur *thumbsup*

Nice Tuur !
No sound on videos ?
Maybe an easier way to exit video (maybe onclick or doubleclick ?) and keep the view position when you exit the video ?

Hi jerome,

Quoted

No sound on videos ?

I have sound.. but took it out.
I had quite a short 'window' to record the 360 videos with my insta oneX because of covid-19.
Because the kids and teacher where saying things .. bla bla.. privacy and not particularly kind all the time etc.. i took the audio out.
I didn't took the effort to put some music.

I did that on the flat video's.. but didn't took the effort for the 360 ones...
It's just a tech studie.

Cool work, Tuur !
Thank you for doing and sharing this !
It is a very good example

My panos are fully 3D rendered, so in principle the model is there already,
I need to try out baking and check what is possible without geometry reduction
my models are super high poly and probably hog down the browser *rolleyes*

Hi Index,

we could have a go with it though, just to see what happens.
If i could open and bake that model with blender, or somebody else, we could have a try.
But i think you are right considering payload and resolution.

I hope we get multires textures or something like that.
It all is quite addictive to work on.. haha.

This is cool. I would love to learn how to do photo realistic 3D models. Nice job!

Hi,

Thanks!
I would strongly recommend the panocamadder + tutorial videos.
Spend some hours, take time to learn Blender a bit, which is a good investment to the future anyway i think, and go from there.
If you have specific questions, use this forum to ask them. There are for sure people that are willing to help when you show initiative and effort.

This example was build from 15 panos. I think i would shoot my 'grid' different next time.. placing the 3d/blender cams in the right positions, or close to 'good enough', was quite a pain in the ... eh.. knee.. haha
But i did learn a lot, again.

Hey Tuur,

This is fantastic! I’m extremely new to anything with krpano, but have more of a background using Blender. I’ve just been watching Mische’s videos for the past year and thinking how I would like to do more with making the models interactive/viewable. After stumbling through a bunch of posts on this forum trying to figure out what terminology to search for, I came upon this.

For the desks, light fixtures, chairs, etc, are they all separate objects from the room itself, or did you join them in Blender? Likewise, did you need to bake all of the textures into one image or is krpano able to use multiple textures now? I’ve read several things with people talking about it being an upcoming feature (those posts were from last year), but haven’t come across something that says an update just yet. Lastly, what did you need to do to include a video? I’m working on a scene from an art exhibition that includes video works and would love to be able to include the video in the room rather than a hotspot that leads them to it in a popup window.

Overall, it’s really inspiring seeing that you made this as it includes most of the things that I’ve been reading through and trying to find, but most people tend to stick to virtual tours with depthmaps or very basic walkthroughs where there’s nothing really in the room (3d objects).

Hi,

thanks for the compliment!
This was my second project/model. Made a year ago.

All is just extracted to the texture from the panorama's following the PanoCamAdder methode. My father (78y) made one chair in Blender and i just copied that and bake it along.

All is baked, i hope multiple textures coming soon.

Quoted

Lastly, what did you need to do to include a video?

The video's are just a video player as distorted hotspot. You could position them using Blender.

Yes, i would also like to see people post more experiments and more out of the box examples etc..
Have you seen these ones?
They both have some un-common functionality.
My first fun project: https://www.virtualtuur.com/casa/tuur/
A recent/new product/functionality promo example: https://panimator.virtualtuur.com/example/

Both should be also quite good fun in Oculus Quest2 etc..
