Hello,

I have come across a strange problem with combobox. In certain conditions the selected item appears to be in a box of itself with a white background. I'm attaching the screen shots.

I have a image (plugin)[left panel] which acts as a place holder (and parent) for the logo and the combobox.
If the parent of the combobox is left-panel and the google maps is enabled, combobox appears distorted; combo-box is okay if i disable the google maps. If the parent of the combo-box is logo then the combo-box looks okay irrespective of whether google maps is enabled/disabled.

Scenario 2: google maps disabled, left panel is the parent of the combobox and the logo, "NO" problem with combobox. screen shot: parent_left_no_google_maps.jpg

Any ideas as to what is causing the problem?

Edit: Forgot to mention, this problem appears on firefox 3.5.8 and google chrome but not on ie 6.

Thanks @pinsane. Looks like i'm not alone.

I could manage to get the effect i want without the "parent" attribute and the combobox seems to be behaving well now. I will go with that for now.
