Best way to "layer" 2 panos (day/night)?

  • Hi,

What's the best way to have 2 panos on top of each other, so that you could have for example a daytime and nighttime pano of the same place and could toggle day/night from a button?

I just got the great radar example working - is it possible/good idea to use the <scene>-tag from that example to do this?

    Thanks!

  • In this ugly example I used <scene>-tags:

It's simple. *smile* You also could have a look at the slider example in the viewer folder.

  • Hi All,

Thanks for the Slider example Klaus.
I was wondering how to convert the XML to accommodate a multires pano; can it be done?
Looking at slider.xml it references the the individual faces but in a multires they are tiles.

    Any ideas anyone?

    Thanks

  • Hi,

Looking at slider.xml it references the the individual faces but in a multires they are tiles.

this is a special example, the cubefaces are included as hotspots,
    this allows fading them,

doing the same with multiresolution panos is not possible yet,
but it will in one of the next versions,

    best regards,
    Klaus

  • Thanks for letting me know Klaus, it saves me trying to get something working that is impossible at this point in time.

I look forward to that feature in a future release.

    Thanks.

  • can anyone explain how to sync the view angles? i mean when we use KEEPVIEW it will use the last viewing parameters in the loading panorama, right? but if they are not syncronised it will look somewhere else. how can i do the right alignment?
    thanks

  • when you stitch the 2:1 images make sure each of the images are postioned in the same spot. use a tree or a wall or soemthing and make sure they are the same. then 0 degrees will be the same in both 360's and using keepview is all you will need.

  • if they were already stitched it still could be done you would just have to figure out how many degrees they are off and create and action to compensate for the difference you would probably see the quick shift maybe. this link has a slider transition bar its one of my first tours i created and i did not get the tripod back into the exact same place. the effect is there but it would be so much better if they were taken from the same spot. click either one of the two bottom pieces of the pie grid to see the slider.

  • You can restitch one of the finished panoramas.
Restitching meaning control points on one, yielding yaw pitch and roll adjustments for one, nothing more..
There is some krpano documentation.. to adjust offsets, but it'd probably be faster just to re-output one.. should take 15 seconds.

  • can you give more information about it?
    thanks to all for reply

now i figured it out. when you open two panoramas in different layers on top of each, in filter menu under other section there is offset. it can be shifted in horizontal or vertical directions. and can be arrange the alignment here.
    thanks alot.

another question; i want the first panorama loaded. when loading finished, i want it to start to load the second panorama but not to show it. i mean when it loaded the first one, it will start to prepare the second syncronised one but not show it to the visitor. when the visitor clicked a button it will blend to other one with KEEPALL or KEEPVIEW.
how can i do that in xml codes? "onloadcomplete" event but then?

    thanks
