Problems with Editor

Hi all,

I am having a problem with the Editor plugin.
None of the keyboard controls seem to work when positioning/scaling hotspots.
EG. If I load in an image hotspot and try and distort it using the D key the hotspot just moves freely or if I try and rotate XY using the space bar the hotspot doesn't move.

Versions:

Editor - krpano 1.0.8 beta 9 (build 2010-02-21)
Viewer - krpano 1.0.8 beta 9 (build 2010-02-21)

I have a feeling I'm doing something stupid (it wouldn't be the first time!)

Thanks.

Hi Tangent12,

By default, the image hotspot has the attribute distorted="false".... That's why the keys does not act as you expect... You have to edit the xml to set distorted="true" ...

Also, I have noticed that, when you go to edit the xml, the URL of the image it is always the image file name... so, if the image is in another path than the xml, the path is incorrect (because the path is not set in the URL.. only the image file name...). Seems to be a BUG of the editor...

SAlut.

Hi Michel,

THANKS!!!!
Changing the xml for the hotspot to distorted=true solved my problem.

Thanks for your help and your quick response.

Hi,

you can also press the 'D' key during hotspot moving to switch between distorted and not distorted,

this is a limitation of the flashplayer file interface, it only returns the filename,
there is no way in the flashplayer alone to get the whole path,

best regards,
Klaus

That's right *smile* , I was not aware about this *rolleyes* ...

So, we MUST set the whole path MANUALLY editing the xml... *squint*

Many times, lately, when I try to submit a post I get the editor empty instead of the submitted post... I have to rewrite my posts *confused* ....

I got this problem sometimes too, I know it's very annoying (especially on large posts )
there is already a new version of the forum software available, I think I will update to it in the next weeks,
maybe this problem will be solved then...

best regards,
Klaus

also I am making lots of hotspots all the same behaviour. it would be better if the physical attributes ( location, distortion etc ) of an image hotspot were all next to each other in the xml, like with a polygon hotspot. then I can just copy paste just that bit from the editor into a hotspot description

Hi,

i am not getting it to work. I got the Demo Version to check out if the program is right for me and I use Mac OSX 10.6 - all versions are up to date.

Do you suggest any special browser? I tried nearly any browser but the Hotspot behaves same - no matter if I hit "R" or "SPACE" or "D" while dragging it. I tried keeping the key pressed and I tried just "toggling" it.

Any suggestions?

Hi, thanks. I did try this - it wasn't a problem of security sections.
The workaround that is ok for me is to click somewhere out of the browser window (e.g. Desktop) and then click the browser window again, this works 90% of the time. I don't have to drag too much hot spots.

I recently bought the kr-pano because there seems to be nothing better on the market.
I plan to write a xml-editor and a connection to be able to make changes to text boxes from a cms like wordpress or typo3. If someone is interested just write me.

I'm also very excited to see this working without flash!!

okay, then it's a focus problem,
are you using the latest swfkrpano.js script?

or a other note - you could also try the standalone flashplayer, there it should also work,
