kcube2sphere problem

Hi all,
we just run into a huge problem.
We tried to convert the cubeFaces from our gigaPixelPano (6 jpgs) via kcube2sphere.exe as well as with the cube2sphere droplet. What we got is a equirectangular tiff that we can't open with photoshop for further editing.

Than we copied the image to mac and just loaded a preview file and we saw the image . . . but like on windows vista x64 we were not able to open it within photoshop . . .
