"xml parser error!" with iPhone

Hi all,

and thanks Klaus for the iPhone version!!

I ran to problems with iPhone with the following URL:
http://panoraamakuvat.fi/aula_test

it gives me xml parse error:

XML is valid(?) and it gives the error only when testing with Safari & user agent set to iPhone.

It works like a charm locally but not when I set it up to my production environment. That is a panoraamakuvat.fi domain (where the .html lies) with a s3 subdomain with the flash & images.

Any ideas? The thing works ok locally.

The .xml has <mobile> tags before the scenes. So it should show the mobile version when browsing with iPhone/iPad/Safari and skip the scenes. And normal browser shows only the scenes and skips the mobile-tags.

The same .xml works when ran locally.

Hi,

the cross domain access to the xml file seems to be the problem (the xml parser error is wrong in this case),
in krpanoJS I use the Javascript XMLHttpRequest function to load the xml files, but with this function loading from other domains is not possible due security restrictions,
I'm not sure if there is a usable workaround possible yet but I will have a look for one...

Hi,

of course:

Make a .htaccess file to the folder you have locally:

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} $ [NC]
RewriteRule (.*) http://destination_domain/folder/$1 [P]


Then it will pass thru all the traffic from your another domain. Note that it will use your server's bandwidth.

loading XML from another domain

I'm using Amazon S3 as my CDN and it's working fine with my shared hosting place. The .htaccess file is enough - no need to configure apache etc. It is not the perfect option because of the lack of benefit with CDN (all data will move though your shared host). You can make it work with different sub domains by altering the RewriteCond and RewriteRule.
