Newbie but keen to explore Ipad and Iphone interfaces

Hi Guys,

Im new to the forum. I have been playing with KRpano for the last week and now have the perfect layout for my PC based virtual tours.

I now want to explore the options with the ipad and iphone. How do you go about editing different layouts for the different browsers? Do you do this within the XML?

Firstly, I want to explore the option of have a similar thumbnail interface shown below on the Ipad:

http://www.fallenangelhotel.com/tours/virtual_tour.html

Is this possible as it seems straight forward.

Next I want to simplify this further for the iphone. Tuur I might explore your layout with a logo, next and pervious buttons to allow users to flick between tours. Was your layout easy enough to create?

Cheers guys

looks awesome... great job...

... just an idea...

Why don't you make a little bigger plan photo and put spots on the plan instead of having little plannets as links? As a panorama creator I know what you actually meant to do but my girlfriend (as a simple user) was wondering why this small circles are different colors and why they look sooo funny?

Also when I open it into a PC browser the top frame menu stays aligned to left and the panorama frame is aligned to center.

Best,
Nicky

Iphone & Ipad

Hi there,

These tours work perfectly on my iphone and ipad. Great examples.

However, I feel we are missing a trick here.... is it possible to have a layout dedicated to each device. So if you load your current tour on the PC, Ipad and then iphone you are give a different form of navigation. The iphone can then use this simple interface you have created. While the Ipad and PC could have more detailed thumbnails due to the larger screens.

Is this possible? how can you do this with Krpano. Will it be 3 xml files and the correct one is loaded?

I would love to play with any ideas this weekend. Any examples on how to do this would be great. I can they share any outcomes.

Cheers

I had a specific request that Klaus recommended using this script.

I am no coder but I assume you could tweak this to send to a different HTML page for each device.

Great

Has anybody used this and if so which file would I add this to? HTML file which normally has the standard code?

Cheers

Add it to the main tour HTML page if you want to automatically go to another page when it detects the device you want. The way it is written now, if any of the three devices is detected, it will switch to the page listed. I am sure it could be fixed to report to a different page for each device.

It works seamlessly and there is only a slight lag for me in changing HTML pages. However, I am using a 2g iPhone so that
is probably part of my lag time.

Examples

Hi Guys,

I now have some examples to see what you all think:

http://bit.ly/91crGZ
http://bit.ly/9CK1pM

So the tours above have a different interface on the PC, Ipad and Iphone. The PC version is the normal layout, Ipad is a thumbnail bar, and Iphone is a next and previous arrows.

Please let me know if these all work for you guys. Also do you think i can improve these in any way.

I do have one question. Is it possible to restrict the FOV on the iphone and ipad versions? As these are old tours I don't have the images for the floor. So I will need to restrict the FOV or add tripod covers. Would prefer the FOV option if possible?

Anyway send over your thoughts.

Cheers

Hi Guys

Any feedback to my examples and questions above?

Sorry. I must have somehow overlooked this post. I like the way you switch between the panos using the arrows. It makes moving through the tour easy bad for the nadir, I don't think you can restrict the view with the current release. Hopefully, Klaus will give us more options soon.

Viewed with an iPhone.

thumbs for iPads n Pods

Hi Michael
Both pano sets work on an iPad, though the Merchants Hall (nice dome!) is quite slow to load. Will you publish the thumbs code - I'm interested to update some work made with Shanti's version.

Well done!

Hi soppsoppsopp
How have you managed to get these 3 interfaces, especially the iPad one with the thumbnail bar and the iPhone with the arrows?
Have you developed a script or a specific html page?
That would be great if you could share your secret with us.

Can someone check the xml, please

Hello,

I am too testing on getting Panos on Ipad. New Panos are no problem, but I am having a tour and there I can't change the whole code. At the moment the Ipad is no longer showing the Error Message to load the flash player but still is not loading the first pano. I know that a tour is not possible except for some already excisting new solutions, I only want the first pano to show like on krpano.com virtual tours

The Pano:

http://www.mz-web.de/extern2/panorama/halle/

The xml file which is included by the several pano xmls is this:

http://www.mz-web.de/extern2/panorama/halle/gesamt.xml

a single xml is only having hotspots and the image information:

http://www.mz-web.de/extern2/panorama/ha…lle3/halle3.xml

Could someone see if there are any mistakes in it that would cause problems with the ipad? Maybe the autorotate function?

Checking with the browser the snytax is alright. *confused*

Thanx already for your help! *whistling*

All of the examples in this thread are broken for me, and I'm having problems also. The mobile panos always go full-screen and cover up any navigation. I'm not able to fix this yet. I am having the same problem, even though I am using a frameset (!). Any idea on how to fix this? I'm testing it with Safari, by switching the user-agent. Nothing works. Please help!
