Action when clicking anywhere in pano

I really would love to perform an action when clicking anywhere in the pano, but I can't find any "ondown" event that is valid for the whole pano.
The only thing I can think of now is scaling a transparent png to 100% width and height over the pano and have the action performed when that is clicked. Is that the way to go?

Edit: Or maybe there's an ondrag method? That would work just fine for me as well..
