Please test for loading times!

Hi Guys,

The main reason I have for staying with FPP at the moment is the seeminly long time I get with a black screen when loading a krpano.

I don`t seem to get this delay on other sites (eg 360cities)

Have I got some code wrong?

Cheers

John

ok thanks,

Its hosted in Texas with a mirror in Hong Kong and London,

Seems to be better for me now - not sure why it was taking 20 seconds before.

Loaded fine for me as well. Less than 5 seconds (I'm in Houston TX). Once it's in the cache, reloads are quick. Might double check your loading after clearing the cache.

Only "odd" thing was when zooming in/out it seems a bit choppy and not as fluid as it could be.

Maybe it's better that you show the loading progress?

I remember seeing a bookmark swf like that... on flashden I think... did you have to modify any of the source for it to work?

Yep its the one off flashden so I can`t give it away - there is a few changes I needed to do - mainly to the javascript.

you can go and search for it or use my handy little affiliate link :)

It was a bit of a gamble - but it works, I`m sure it would for FPP too.

Oh PS.... I created the buttons on the Imac (24inch) and have just checked on the MacBook Pro 15inch and the buttons lookin jaggy like cookies!!

What are they like for you?

Cheers

buttons?? the icons on the lower right... including the directional ones? Those look fine... on a 15" widescreen toshiba laptop / flash 10

I did notice that if I hit the magic 9 button... defaulting to flash 9 rendering... they look like cookies.

I haven't experienced that before... but went and checked one of my tours online and got a funny thing. When I switched over to flash 9, some images (png) I have with transparency lost the transparency areas while moving the pano.

In your case... maybe something odd going on using the jpgs... and the "screen" effect... vs using a png with transparency.

I had not noticed this before... even when using Flash 9... maybe a bug in the beta?
