    I designed this site with the krpano tools in mind. The google map on the main page is the google plugin and all the gigapixel photos were stitched with Autopano Giga and krpano tools was used to tile and display etc. Still about another 16 panos to add and I think I will have to licence the source code for the google plugin as the little 'i' icons are just not standing out enough to be seen. If I could just change them for a little camera it would be better already.

    Please let me know what you think. I will make the site a little more feature rich as it matures, but I am trying hard to keep it as simple as possible.

  • dpinparis you will need to purchase the googlemaps source code in order to change the spots on the map. however just buying Klaus source code will only allow you to change the 2 markers that are built in. the blue "I" and the green "I". you can swap them out for anything you wish and or just make the ones there larger. if you want to add multiple markers like I have done here http://www.virtualnorthland.com/panos/duluth2/ you need to buy the source code the Spacerywirtual team has modified. Unless you know someone with some AS3 skills that could modify Klaus source for you.

  • Gerard -
    thanks for the kind words. S/W I use Autopano Giga and if unable to stitch
    with that I use PTGUI, using KRPANO to display them. I do post-stitch
    editing in PS5. H/W I currently use the Gigapan Epic Pro, which is ok but not
    great. I would like to change it to something I can control more. Lenses are
    either EF 70-200 F2.8 II or 100-400 (not keen on this one as not sharp enough;
    so waiting to hear what canon bring out this year before I decide to replace with
    the 400 F5.6 prime) on either a canon 5D MKII or 1D4.

    I will have to check the sizes, though I recall some being way over 5 GP.
    I am not too fussed about the sizes though, providing the level of detail is
    what I was aiming for I am happy.
    @vn2009 - thanks, I looked into buying the source code. I am just not sure it is worth it considering what I can do with it. When I add the rest of the gigapixel photos perhaps I will do so.

    That is an impressive site you have. How did you do the aerial?

    in my opinion if you cannot modify the code yourself or do not mind paying more to add the needed code to include multiple spots the exsisting souce is not worth the cost just to change 2 icons. thankfully i could afford the cost to have it further modified.

    the aerial = the hardway. a real helicopter with a self made retractable boom that was lowered under the chopper then i had to manually spin it every 60° and take 6 shots while we hovered.

  • With the great sunshine we are having at the moment, I decided to add a couple more gigapixel photos to the site. Porte Saint-Martin and a wonky Beaubourg. Both stitched with autopano giga this time. I will re-do Beaubourg later in the summer, a bit straighter and higher resolution.

    Now things are warming up nicely, I hope to add a lot more to the site. Fingers crossed not much rain this year!
