Alternative perspective views

  • Hello all,

I want to evangelize for the excellent perspective controls available in the krpano view object. The normal (rectilinear), architectural, stereographic, and Pannini views are very nice individually; but by allowing to mix them, Klaus has enabled very fine control of the viewing perspective.

An example that offers 3 'perspectives' in the (right-click) context menu:
    http://tksharpless.net/ArchStreetMeet…owsMirrors.html
-- "normal perspective" is rectilinear mixed with 30% of architectural ( architecturalonlymiddle true) which slows down the tipping of verticals as you look up and down.
-- "wide perspective" is pannini at 90% fisheye + 30% architectural.
    - "Pannini perspective" is the full pannini effect (100% fisheye, stereographic true, pannini true).

These give progressively wider (simulated) perspectives with progressively more curvature of transverse lines (an effect that bothers some people more than others). There is little difference between them until you zoom out. Of course the perspective could even be made to change continuously, however I think 3 options is enough.
