license and my clients

Hi all,

I'm new to Krpano, but have been working with other VR software since a few years.
WIth these software I could deliver the projects in a way that my clients can install it on their own server without a license problem.

WIth Krpano we need a license file.

What do you do if you deliver a project to a client who wants to put everything on his own server:
- you make a path to the license on your server ?
- you offer him the license ?
- you charge him for the license ?
- what with offline projects ?

Thanks for your reactions.

Hi Servaas,

- first decide if you want to give it opensource or do you want to protect the code /pics..
- with kptrotect you can just make a license.. put the publishing domain there .. etc create swf
maybe give it a license for a year or so.. you decide together with the client..
or embed the code etc in it.. maybe encrypt the pics.. etc

the swf you call servaas_client.swf and that you also put in the index..

there are a lot of possiblities..

try to make your servaas.swf and make the tour running..

Alsoo the droplets allow you to combine the license with krpano.swf. So the license is embedded in krpano.

Yeah all in krpano, Although there is a flash controller directing the lot, keeping track of what items has been found etc. I made it last year in March for my graduation project ;) I combined 3d, Flash, krpano, music, interaction design etc (basicly all the skills I learned :P) in 1 project to create a childrens game. The idea was that when children start a book on school, they have no idea what it's all about. Try imagine, teaching a kid what Egypt is, whithout them even knowing what Egypt is or how it looks like. The see pictures and hear stories about pharao's, but that doesnt really cover it. By presenting a 3d surrounding of the subject BEFORE the subject is introduced on school, they have a clear vision about the subject. When you talk about pharoa's then or piramids, they have a picture of it in their head. They can visualize it better because krpano has increased their spatial awareness :) It's more immersive then anything I know.

really nice job !

I made something similar about the second world war for french schools.
Actually I made the 3D renders and someone else the flash part.
You can have a look here.

There are 6 scenes where you have to find 'things' before going to the other stage..
(when you here 'krik krak, 'you also have the find the way out :-)

Cheers,

Really awesome :) Are the transistions between the items a movie? Really cool done. How much time did it take? We did 4 3d scenes, which took maybe 1-2 weekend, and the coding / design / text was about 2 weeks :) We had 3 months of documentation before hand (schoolproject :p they want us to write hehe)

thanks !
It took months... almost a year. (documentation, propositions, input client, feedback, waiting, ....)

Yep, the transitions are small movies (3O frames only).

But I think this topic is not really the place to talk about this :-)

Hi,

note - you can also build a krpano viewer with an embedded license,

either with the kprotect tool or in the current version also simply by using the droplets,
they are configured by default to embed also the license,

and otherwise (without embedded license) it would be no problem when you deliver the pano together with the license to your client,

best regards,
Klaus

Hello Klaus,

In the meanwhile I've figured it out.
Works really simple.

Thanks,

Limiting the time of the license works only in kprotect so only when using .swf files, right? What about limitations for mobile devices?

And is there separate tools for generating pano viewer, generating pano and tiles?
We want to generate protected viewer by domain for our clients.
But our soft includes generating panorams and tiles... How can we resolve this question? *confused*
Thanks...
