can you resize a .swf?

I bought a new horizontal flash menu bar but it is sized to 500x300. i want to fit it into my exsisting menu bar that is only 30px. i cannot find a way to resize this so it will fit. I can get it inside the DIV but it overflows off the bottom into my main content. I have the .fla and the .swf but cannot make them smaller.

Any ideas anyone? It is even possible?

scaling squeezed the menu bar items so small they could not be read. however I was able to figure this out after hours of struggling with Adobe Flash.
