so u want that everybody can easily make virtual tours and that the business is gone ??
A reflective moment here...
It used to be a limited few could master and afford the photography skills / tools in the "days of film"...
... then digital photography sprang upon the world... and now everyone can make great photographs.
Similarly, it used to be that only a select breed could master the skills and techniques required to efficiently put a virtual tour online... but that era will come to a close as well.... ... and soon, everyone will be making great panos / tours
OK - sarcasm aside... It can be considered the natural course of events... but those that stay out on the leading edge of techniques, skills, salesmanship, marketing, etc... will always have a value to the right customer.
Just be thankful that we are on the front line using a tool like krpano. Even with the advent of gui's and automatic scripts... it won't substitute for the individuality and creativity that has to come from the creator that knows how to use the tools at the raw level.
End of reflective moment.

agreed, a GUI may make things easier for everyone else but a GUI cannot make everything happen. There is no way to code all of our creative ideas into 1 gui. the gui is a start, the few of us who actually took the time to learn the code and what it is doing will always have one step advantage at making tours. at the point where everyone can make them it will be up to us to show people the difference between a virtual tour and a marketing expirience.

yes yes... i agree tooo

Anyone can make a pano tour, anyone can play a guitar but some become legends.
Finding your customers is the a lot harder than people think and this will sort out the real biz people
also close the markets that you are targeting (domain name)
When I became interested in pano tours I registered a few domain names

Anyone can make a pano tour, anyone can play a guitar but some become legends.
And then someone makes a game called Krpano Hero for the playstation 3 and you have to navigate through the tour by smacking colored buttons in a certain beat :P (For those that didnt see it, this was a Guitar Hero spoof, a game which is based on playing a guitar by smacking 4 colored buttons. It makes you believe you can actually play guitar)

Hi,
I've test this :
But this is not working, it's make a black screen instead of rotate the panorama.
The krpano trace tells me this :
For the first time I launch the action, and then
Any idea on what's going wrong ?
-
are you trying to moveto in a horizontal (left / right) motion or vertical (up/down)?
It looks like you are trying to move up (like doing a back flip).
If so, maybe the limitview attribute of the view node is causing issues (http://www.krpano.com/docu/xml/#view)... this would normally prevent you from looking up past 90deg.
I know if you spin around horizontally... the hlookat keeps going and going well beyond +/- 360... but maybe the vertical up down angle doesn't adjust as well.??

Sorry to say that I can't help any on this one. But I can confirm the exact same problem happens when I try to set up the same action.
First time... works... second time, black screen and NaN for the trace. I added a trace to see what the view.vlookat was and it shows up as NaN as well.
I tried some different things and ended up getting it to break the first time as well
Also just took out the moveto part... and traced all of the values to check the math... then moved around and ran the action over and over from different vlookats and that seems to work. So, looks to be something when moveto has a variable declared... which is what you were seeing as well... I just wanted to make sure something wasn't going wrong with the mathematics.

moveto(0,maVar);
Hi, using a "variable" as destination value is currently just not possible
but in beta 8 (soon!) it will be possible via get(), e.g:best regards,

Hi Klaus & Co.
I didn't see this in the doc and it doesn't seem to work...
Is there an alpha setting on the new <scene> tag on Beta7? I'm Looking to programatically decrease/increase the alpha on the loaded pano from a Flash plug-in. I'm trying to hide the pano when I have my plug-in showing a window in the foreground that I'd like the users to see. To hide the current pano, I load and blend in a new scene with a blank and transparent .png as the pano and then do my plug-in window. When the plug-in is done, I reload and blend in the original scene and starting my pano from the same spot I left off.
Just looking for some simpler code and having the alpha setting on the scene may do the job...
Thanks
Lee

You could also just load a new plugin that is a semi-transparent png set to 100% height and width to "shade" out the pano. If you set the zorder s correctly, the "shade" can sit between your pano and the other plugins. You could also set the shade's attributes enabled and captured to "true" (ref link: http://www.krpano.com/docu/xml/#plugin) so that errant clicks and drags on the pano don't distract users from the intended plugin.

Thanks...
That's what I wound up doing... This new scene tag is very helpful, but its got my brain wanting the scene element to be treated similar to a plug-in so that I can have multiple scenes loaded as z-order layers in the viewer and be able to adjust the alpha on each scene as needed. Anyone else looking for this same function???
Thanks.
