There's a new version of PanoTag available (1.0.0 beta3). Besides some bug fixes, there are a couple of improvements:

- New option to show a confirm screen after a tag is inserted. This helps to prevent problems with pop-up blockers
- New option to choose which action to perform when starting the panorama from a link

Today Facebook is changing their authentication method and updating their API. Therefore, I've released version 1.0.1 of PanoTag, which is compatible with this new authentication method. It's available at http://www.digisfera.pt/panotag-1.0.1.zip

The older versions of PanoTag will most likely stop working during the next week.

Hi,
I have set up panotag in a virtual tour, here's the link:

A box displays:
Unable to connect Facebook, Tagging not possible
In the file panotag_config.xml is a space to introduce the PAN ID, but I don't know how to get it.
I'm using version 1.0.1 in free mode.

Version 1.0.2 has been released. The main features of the new version are tag deletion and a counter
indicating how many tags there are on the photo. Some more details:

- Users can now delete tags which they have added and tags of
themselves

- An administrator can also be defined for each domain and panorama.
This user is able to delete every tag (contact me to set up this
feature on your panoramas)

- A counter showing the total number of tags can now be enabled

- Server-side option to only allow users to tag themselves (contact
me to set up this feature on your panoramas)

- Server-side option to only allow each user to be tagged once
(contact me to set up this feature on your panoramas)

- Updated the Facebook ActionScript API to version 1.0.8

When someone clicks on the metadata preview image (the preview image next to the hyperlink text) in facebook, it links to the pano with no visible tags. When I click the text to link to the pano, it works fine. any ideas?

That's right. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find a way to get PanoTag working on the Facebook wall. The reason for this is that the Wall only displays an SWF file and not the whole page, and therefore it's not possible to embed the Facebook connect script.


It is possible, however, to create a Facebook application which displays a panorama with PanoTag, since that uses an iframe instead.

Hi, I'm currently testing the Panotag plugin and on 1st sight, it works very good. Configuring is very easy for such a complex activity.
But I have a question... I'm testing a virtual tour with multiple pano's. I included the panotag.xml tag in every scene but it appears that the tags of the 1st pano appears on al the other pano's too.
Is thought it was possible to include 1 panotag ID for 1 virtual tour with multiple pano's or am I doing something wrong?

I included a tag for myself (bottom of the pano), but this tag appears on all the other pano's too.

Yes, it is possible to have different tags on each panorama of a tour. However, it requires a small change to the configuration.

Basically, the panid variable in the panotag_config.xml is what defines which tags will be loaded. So, to have a set of tags for each panorama you have to:

- Delete the panid="" line in panotag_config.xml
- Add the following code to each scene:

<include url="panotag/panotag.xml"/>
<panotag panid="whatever"/>

The whatever should be different for each scene, so that they use different tags. Let me know if the instructions are not clear.

Dissapeared?

Whats happened to the panotag website? It's disappeared *blink* and the emails are bouncing back? Was going to use the plugin for a new project but need to speak to the developers!

PanoTag is working well here, it's just the "digisfera.pt" site and email that has been having some DNS problems since yesterday. Could you try this example just to make sure? http://www.c360.nl/tedxamsterdam11/

I hope that this problem will be solved by our provider as soon as possible. In the meantime, please send any emails related to PanoTag to manuel.cabral@gmail.com

I've also set up an alternative download link for PanoTag at http://panotag.com/panotag-1.0.3.zip

I'll let you know once the solution is back to normal.

Hi there,

PanoTag version 1.0.6 has been released. The features since the last update that I posted here (1.0.2) are the following:

- Added ability to insert a message with tags
- Added support for SSL. Use "PanoTagS.swf" to connect using https
- Updated the Facebook ActionScript API to version 1.0.8.1

- Fixed bug preventing panoramas from being remotely embedded
- Fixed glitch causing some tags to be hidden in large panoramas

Panotag for iPad / mobile?

Hi I was trying to find out if you have developed support for Panotag for mobile / iPad? If you have a version that works with krpano.js. I have a client who would like to mobile friendly FB taggable gigapixel image. And if you do have this support, if it works as krpano seems to (using SWF where possible, but JS when on mobile)?

No, right now the iPad is not supported on PanoTag unfortunately. We are planning to implement support for it soon, but only on normal panoramas since KRPano's HTML5 viewer doesn't support Gigapixels yet.

Hello. PanoTag is one of the best plugins for Krpano. Nice Job!

But... i have some problems with XD Proxy. After i try to crate new tag the XD Proxy windows won't close and it is confusing. Is there any solution for this problem?
