Curved straight lines in finished panorama

Hi,

I am new to krpano and this is my first attempt using KRpano as a viewer www.3dpanoramy.sk/krpano/ford.html
and I have to say I am not satisfied with the result at all. Check for straight lines how wavy their are. I mean the iron construction up under the roof. Is this normal with KRpano or should I set up some parameters to avoid this kind of problem.

Just for comparison - this is the same pano converted to swf with Pano2VR www.3dpanoramy.sk/autosalon_2009/ford.html

So have I missed anything or is this a standard bahaviour of KRpano.

Thanks

Juraj

krpano version="1.0.6">
<display fps="60" movequality="LOW" stillquality="HIGH" />
<view hlookat="0" vlookat="0" fov="100" fovmin="10" fovmax="150" fisheye="0.0" fisheyefovlink="0.5" />
<preview type="CUBESTRIP" url="ford.tiles/preview.jpg" />
- <image type="SPHERE" multires="true" tilesize="1029" baseindex="1">
- <level tiledimagewidth="8232" tiledimageheight="4116" details="20">
<sphere url="ford.tiles/l2_%v_%h.jpg" />
</level>
- <level tiledimagewidth="4116" tiledimageheight="2058" details="16">
<sphere url="ford.tiles/l1_%v_%h.jpg" />
</level>
</image>
</krpano>

that is your code. first thing you should do is download the new 1.0.8, beta is has alot more tweaking features for details. then add this code and it will all be better. use the tessmode to tweak the straightness even more. http://krpano.com/docu/xml/#display this is all the display settings. once you learn krpano it will far outshine anything you have used in the past. you just need to learn the code to do so.

<display fps="60"
details="32"
tessmode="3"
movequality="HIGH"
stillquality="HIGHSHARP"
flash10="on"
movequality10="HIGH"
stillquality10="HIGHSHARP"
stilltime="0.25"

Spot on advice.

I had the exact the same problem. Raising the "details" value to a minimum of 24 suddenly made the lines come straight.

Good news: it is not a system fault but mine (as usually).
Bad news: I had to learn how to use KRPano correctly.

Well, in fact it is not such a bad news, I like to learn new things.

Thank you both for your quick answers.

Hi,

for the best quality I would recommend using the 1.0.8 beta
and also converting the pano to a cubical one
(in the 1.0.8 beta Tools there is also a droplet included for this)

http://krpano.com/download/beta/

best regards,
Klaus

Klaus,

I have just tried that droplet and the result really looks good.

Thanks
