Pretend to know if there is a possibility that you can assemble a picture in which the image is transparent (eg PNG) and the background ever see the iPhone's camera. Do you think it would be possible?
Is it possible to make a picture transparent?

Hi,
no, there is no access to iPhone camera in Javascript, so that is technically not possible,
but making the cube faces partially transparent should be possible by using PNG images with an alpha channel, best regards,
Klaus -
Thanks for the reply.
I tried to use a PNG image with transparency in some areas, however the transparent area is white in the panorama. -
Hi,
do you mean in the Flash or the HTML5/JS viewer?
in the Flash viewer transparent cube faces are not possible,
but in the HTML5/JS viewer on iPhone/iPad they should, best regards,
Klaus -
I tried it in the iPhone4 and the iPad1 and background is not transparent. The page has a red background, and the transparent black is displayed.
You can see an example in http://www.imaginartejuegos.com/iphone/transparente/The images used in PNG format can be viewed on http://www.imaginartejuegos.com/iphone/transparente/faces.htm and see if they are transparent. -

Thank you very much.
With that change can already see the transparent background. -
this look's interesting, but I'm not quite sure I understand what the background is. I'm assuming you can only have one set of cube faces :( no zorder here. So the background is provided via the html divison or...?
Klaus, it seems perhaps for once, the iOS might offer a feature that Flash does not, using png's as cube faces with transparency could be quite an interesting opportunity if you could have multiple sets of cube faces based on zorder.
Just a thought :)

No iphone camera access!??!
What a pity.
I was already thinking to use it for augmented reality tricks!! -
... And making an app that can feed our krpano with the stream?!?!
-
It would be perfect background you could see what the camera sees, and superimposed the faces of the cube in PNG with transparencies, thus if the iPhone will synchronize with reality, which could superimpose the picture.
Ideal for augmented reality, games, or just for information on what you see if you are at the point where the picture was made.
Klaus, is it possible to achieve this functionality? -
Yes, I would love it.
I think it would be necessary to do something like this: An app with integrated safari, the app takes video stream from the webcam and gives it to krpano running in its shell and taking data from the web.
