Is it possible to make an interactive area on an object movie? If so, how to get a perfect overlay? Because there are no cubefaces. Is there another way to do it? For example act like it's a 360x180 pano, make cubefaces and finally only use one or so? Or maybe use pictures from 2000x2000 pixels? Does anyone have a quicker / better solution?

Nobody?
I'm thinking about making a whole panorama with cubefaces, use the same cubefaces every time (except the one with the image), limit the view. But it's very cumbersome (?) and I really want to do it another way. Any ideas?

Hi,
theoretically it should be possible by too for flat and object panos but finding the correct ox,oy and width, height setting for a perfect fitting might be a bit difficult...
I have not tried that by myself yet, but I noted your request and will try it and when I was successful I describe the process,

Hello Klaus,
Thank you!
Maybe it's easier when I use square images? In this case I think that's no problem for me.Would be great if it works!

Did you already test this? Or tips how to find out?

Hi,
here a new tutorial for how-to make pixel-perfect hotspots - also for flat and object panos:
Example/Tutorial - Extract a Distorted Hotspot from any kind of Pano Image (with perfect pixel alignment)note - for object panos use 1.0 as pano hfov and round the hfov, yaw, pitch and roll values manually to 2 or 3 decimal places in the stitcher to avoid inaccuracy between the display in the stitcher and the real values!
best regards,

Thank you very much! Thanks for the effort. When it's finished, I will show the object movie that I already had in mind.

I'm not finished yet, but here is the temporary result:

http://iolar.nl/vt/test2/yes, really great!!!
(it must have been a lot of work to make all these hotspots )best regards,
Klaus -
Yes, it's a terrible amount of work ;). I don't recommend it. :P
Will this (object movie) ever be available for iPad / tablet too or do I have to find another solution?

Well done dude, a great example of an interactive object movie!!! Sure it was the hell of work to get there, polygonal hotspots, photography, coding...
Now, the only thing that distracts me are those black areas ouside the pano image, I created this object movie a while ago in which I left those as white, so they can blend well with the movie creating more space around it:

If you like the idea all the code is there
Keep the good work!!

Another observation, I'll suggest you to make a levels adjustment to all your images in photoshop, it is measuring a (219,222,222) white instead of the (255,255,255) value I would expect in the white zone outside the object, which indicates that the tonal range is kindda limited. I'd already tried it and it gives more light to all the images. Is just a suggestion
Cheers!

Thanks for your suggestions! The problem is: I have to load all the images in Photoshop and change them. That's a lot of work! I will try if it's really better, but I think I won't change it. You measured the white at the background, I didn't make it grey by accident ;). The background is not white because the customer wants it to be the color used on his website.
And I changed the black borders indeed, that's very ugly, I just changed the background color in the html code. And I deleted the big arrows at the sides, they're on the 'bottom' now (not in the online example yet).
