I think it this should be done automatically by the viewer that when distorted hotspots are out of view, they should be disabled or made unclickable.
This would prevent any interference from their 180 degree doppelgangers. Or maybe an attribute.. Perhaps this might make cubeface videos/images weird.
Out of view Distorted Hotspots to be disabled automatically.

Hi,
these '180 degree doppelgangers' are a strange Safari bug - theoretically that shouldn't happen!
but please try the new 1.0.8.15 pre-release that was released a few minutes ago:
1.0.8.15 pre-releasethe internal hotspots handling is completely different in that version and should fixed that problem too,
best regards,
Klaus -
Dopplegangers still there for hotspots which are distorted=true.
Checking the hotspot array to see if they are in view is a very heavy process. If you do this automatically, it can't be done per frame. Maybe batches per frame though. I find the performance to be an issue if you have more than a few hundred hotspots.
Or can the gyro be made to work with non distorted hotspots? -

really? do you have an example where it still happens with the new version?
I have done a lot of testing but wasn't able to reproduce that with it...ZitatOr can the gyro be made to work with non distorted hotspots?
what do you mean?
the rotation of the non distorted hotspots when using view.camroll (this is what the gyro plugin uses)?
that should work already since 1.0.8.14 build 2012-03-16...best regards,

Great! Hard to keep up sometimes with all the changes. That eliminates a huge issue, since clickable distorted hotspots would now be sparsely used "at least for me".

but in the current version they (distorted hotspots) should work fine...
if you have an example which still is not working or have this 180 degree doppelgangers - please let me know - that would be very helpfulbest regards,

I see, in desktop safari, it'll let you see where they are.. But they are of no consequence, because they are not clickable.
The issue has become rare.

Hi,
just as note - I can confirm that - there is still a problem on the Desktop Safari with these 180 degree doppelgangers - there will be an additional workaround in the next release that should fix that problem finally by automatically disabling the hotspots out of view,
best regards,
Klaus
