Where to start for Panoramic Video

Hello,

I am new in here and on the krpano so please excuse any stupid questions. I want to do something like this.
I have tried to use the droplets but none of the video formats i used (.mp4 .f4v .flv .mov) were supported. Where do I start?

Use Miro Video converter

Check http://krpano.com/plugins/videoplayer/#top. It says :

"
For converting the videos to a formats that are playable by all browsers and devices,
the free Open-Source tool Miro Video Converter is recommended."

Thanks for your input... Problem is there isn't any automated procedure to do this with a droplet and i don't know yet how to create the xml file then link to to the HTML so i can do this from scratch... My video format i think is the least of my problem.....Any guidance would be helpful.

Hi,

that would be pretty simple:
  1. just take the krpano.html, the krpano.swf, the swfkrpano.js and the plugins folder from the krpano viewer download packge as they are,
  2. and then create a new krpano.xml with any texteditor and enter there this content:

    Quellcode

    1
    2
    3
    4
    5
    6

    <krpano>
        <plugin name="video" url="plugins/videoplayer.swf" videourl="video.flv" />
        <image>
            <sphere url="plugin:video" />
        </image>
    </krpano>
  3. instead of 'video.flv' and the name of your video file of course

That's all!
And to start it, just open the krpano.html or the krpano.swf.

Best regards,
Klaus

Thank you so much Klaus,

This was the exact explanation i was looking for. Thank you for your input. Hopefully in some time i will be able to interact with the more advanced threads and taste all the joy of krpano.

Just to report that everything worked like charm... With some experiments i also figured how to rename the xml through the html file. I guess the only thing now is how to implement different features in the source code eg buffer bar. Is it also possible to create a virtual tour which instead of panoramic photos can run panoramic video? I know with the current internet technology this would be very frustrating for users but for an offline presentation that would be great...

Hi,
I guess the only thing now is how to implement different features in the source code eg buffer bar.
such would need to be coded by krpano xml,
e.g. here a nice implementation:
A progress time bar for the videoplayer plugin

Is it also possible to create a virtual tour which instead of panoramic photos can run panoramic video?
technically it doesn't matter if video or a normal pano - you can mix them in any way you want,

Klaus
