• Hi Krpano friends,

    wanted to ask opinion from yours.

    I was asking at Facebook groups related to 360° videos and photography if a service similar to
    http://jsfiddle.net/

    but instead of HTML+Javascript coding, it would be for Krpano coding.

    http://www.depanorama.com
    This is the homepage, you can start creating your own ones.

    And two modificable examples:
    http://depanorama.com/50f482e1-77d0-40e9-aae0-508e1f16046d
    http://depanorama.com/50d39749-7500-4c61-b6b1-0b50c82a366e

    I'm still missing the cloning button, thus, when you edit an existing project it creates a clone/copy and do not modify the original. In this way, you could ask for help easier in the krpano community, or also for team editing projects, where it is needed to work together on same project.

    There could be also created an interface with buttons and else, for non-krpano-coders, like a light version of PanoTour UI.

    What is missing...lot of things, this was just a dummie I created in one day. I am a coding guy, but I am a bad designer, then, if there are people wanting to help to the project with any skill or idea he/she has, you are welcome.

    Regards,
    Ciul *smile*

  • hi luis

    as i said on facebook, i think this is an excellent idea

    folks here would probably need to see more working examples to get the concept if they are unfamiliar w jsfiddle, it was a bit confusing to me at first but after a bit i got the hang of it, its widespread use on stack overflow etc makes me think it could be popular for krpano xml too

    for those unfamiliar, this is similar to the krpano editor plugin but it would allow folks to post and save and clone and otherwise fiddle with working and nonworking code in with a live preview pano, i think this could be better for the kind of code examples i see and learn from which are posted on this site rather than just pasting code into a forum post, seeing the code with a live pano example next to it would be nice :)

    would it be possible to show the existing krpano examples folder on this site, via dropdown in sidebar or somesuch ?

    probably this topic should be moved to "examples" forum ? prob some good stuff in there to show as examples here

    sam

  • Impressive *blink*

    This could really greatly improve the way we´re working together on problem solutions, or even to create free community-plugins and addons together for krpano! I´ve never heard of jsfiddle until now, so this is even more impressive to me *g* Would be great if this could be integrated into the krpano-forum somehow after it´s finished. I´ll play a little with it and try to explore the boundaries *squint*

    But here´s what I´d love to see:
    - improved project management tools
    - password protection for closed/unfinished projects
    - maybe a simple and project-based chat-system?!
    - the possibility to see or even manage included xml-files

    This could become one of the greatest krpano-improvements ever! Well done, Ciul *thumbsup*

    Best regards
    Nupsi

  • Sam Rohn

    Hi Sam,
    yeah, examples could be shown. As I said, it was a demo I coded in one day, that's why it is not much usable. But now you can understand better my point on a site like this and benefits, people can start replying what they would like to see in it. And then I could start working on improving it.

    Nupsi

    Hi Nupsi,
    thanks for the ideas, they are widely welcome. It is the only way to know what do you need from a service like that. And then I could start working in a good direction, with the help of community.

    @everyone

    Is there any designer wanting to contribute?

    Regards,
    Ciul

  • Hi!
    It's simple and interesting (i mean enter code to see what you done)
    Hm.. maybe I can make standalone html page with this feature, and for free :)
    then you can use it in project directly with panos localy
    Guys, tell me if it's good idea *thumbup*

    Regards

    Andrey

    PS - and it can be start of opensource simple html based editor project ;)

  • Hi Krpano friends,

    I updated the site and the code to allow projects to be updated/cloned, thus, these are the steps:

    1- you go to http://www.depanorama.com
    2- Write Krpano code. Don't forget to give it a Title and Description (these cannot be empty)
    3- Click on RUN button so you see resuts
    4- If results are as expected, then click on SAVE button (it creates a new base project)
    5- Once base project is created then you can modify code and click on RUN button to see new results
    6- If new results are as desired, then click on UPDATE button (it creates an updated project, which is a new version of it. This and former verrsions are still available)

    Notes:
    - When you create a base project url will be something like http://www.depanorama.com/:projectID
    - When you update a project url will be something like http://www.depanorama.com/:projectID/:projectVersion
    - You can use link to http://www.depanorama.com/embed/:projectID/:projectVersion to get a cleaner view of that project version result
    - You can use link to http://www.depanorama.com/xml/:projectID/:projectVersion to get xml code of that project version result

    This is still an idea in development. I am not designer, that's why you might it horrible (or not). I have been asking some friends if the might want to help with design and in return he/she will have his logo linked back to his/her website.
    It still lacks of many many things that could improve the service and help us to test, share and work with krpano code within krpano community.

    Since it doesn't host the images, you must allow the domain *.depanorama.com in your website or wherever you have images to use, and then add security node in Krpano project.

    An xml file with content like this will make it:
    <cross-domain-policy>
    <allow-access-from domain="*.depanorama.com"/>
    </cross-domain-policy>

    As you can see, I am and still has many other features to add, thus, a standalone html page might not give same features, neither will allow for what I consider the main purpose, which is allow for group/team working in krpano projects. But yes, your idea is a good idea =] just, that it is not the same idea.

    / Sudarchikov Andrey

    This could help to test new plugins developments too, I don't know, we (you and me) could make it great or not), I could add for example, facebook, twiiter and other social networks tagging (I've already done these plugins for private companies)

    And anyway...I'm going to sleep, it is late here. So take care and have fun.

    Take a look at this EXAMPLE:

    http://depanorama.com/embed/QwRK7K
    http://depanorama.com/QwRK7K/3
    http://depanorama.com/embed/QwRK7K/3

  • Hi ciul,

    I am testing your site, which is just GREAT!!, However I can't get a link, so I can't share the code.
    I could get the link yesterday, but it disappeared. Please check.

    best,

    Hi Heomin61,

    the link is the url itself it generates, just copy and paste it from the browser. You are right, I should give a SHARE button or something like that better.
    And thanks a lot for your comments! :D

    Regards,
    Ciul

  • Hi again,

    I asked Klaus permissions to use Krpano website images for the purpose of creating more examples, and he happily agreed :D

    Also, start to receive some help from designer friends.

    I present you logo designs by Javier Llorente - Javast D'signer, website: http://www.javastnetwork.info/
    Logo:
    1-

    2-

    What do you think, have your own idea?

    Corfu example (I simplified code a little bit, although there 14 scenes to watch with back and next buttons):

  • Hey Luis,

    if one of above examples should be the one, then I would take the bottom one and add the "360 pano developers". The first ones symbol is far to massive and seperates the "depan - rama" instead of replacing the "o".

    And here some other things I would love to see and which I think would be great additions:
    - Register- and login-functions (so you could easily see all your personal projects and all actual projects of your group(s))
    - Group-Management (create groups, invite to groups, kick from groups)
    - krpano code-functions inside the editor (I know that this is VERY much to ask for, but would be very cool!)

    ....more to come *wink*

    Keep up the great work, Luis, because this one got the potential to become an awesome addition to krpano *thumbsup*

    Best regards
    Nupsi

    "I think if the site can host plugins, images, etc, it will be more valuable."

    I'm not sure if hosting images is the best option but I'm widely open to hear all you, since this is a service for us, krpano community.

    At the moment, you can use images from your sites, yeah! And you can feel safe I am not keeping your images or else.

    HOW TO USE IMAGES AND FILES FROM OTHER SITE: It is explained at http://www.krpano.com/docu/xml/#security

    1- You must place a xml file in the root folder of your site named as crossdomain.xml and content, e.g
    <cross-domain-policy>
    <allow-access-from domain="*.depanorama.com"/>
    </cross-domain-policy>

    2- You must include the security node in the project code so Krpano knows where to load the crossdomain.xml file from your site, e.g
    <security>
    <crossdomainxml url="http://mywebsite.com/crossdomain.xml" />
    </security>

    3- Use absolute url for files from the other site, e.g
    <hotspot name="button" url="http://mywebsite.com/images/button_image.png" />

    And also for any other file, just follow these steps. If you have an idea of how to improve and make things easier, please, just say it. I am not building this alone, you are building it too with all your feedback =]

    Nupsi

    That is not very much to ask, please, keep asking, only that way I can know what you (krpano devs) need/want.
    - I will implement signing with Facebook, since almost everyone has a Facebook account, it's easier to implement login with Facebook api and so this could became more social.
    - Group managemente, yeah, that's a great idea.
    - Krpano code-functions don't understand what it means, please explain this a little more, thanks.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    I think we should open a thread somewhere else in the Forum in a better chosen topic, right?
    Thanks for your feedbacks :)

  • Hard to explain, because I don´t know how this is called. What I mean is that if you create an action like this...
    <action name="test">
    blabla
    </action>

    that the code inside the editor looks like this
    <action name="test">
    blabla
    </action>

    I hope you get what I mean ;)

  • Hi Krpano friends,

    In request to Nupsi I've searched for a XML Syntax Highlighting editor that could be used (OPEN SOURCE).
    After testing a few out there, I stay with CodeMirror

    I've just implemented it into live site DePanorama for you to test and tell me what you think.
    Thanks for all your support and feedback.

    (I apologize for the delay in adding many other features as login in for having a list of projects created, just that I am working and studying at same time, and this is an aside project of my own, thanks for understanding)

    Regards,
    Ciul

  • Syntax-Highlight works like a charme, Ciul, and there is even a autocomplete-function (<action/> </action>) *thumbsup*
    It´s getting better and better! And take you all the time it needs without apologize for some dinky waiting time. This project is just too damn good to be build in a hurry!

    Best regards
    Nupsi

  • Hi all Krpano pals,

    wanted to share my dream of what I would like for DePanorama (I'm workin in my local host, that's why you don't see updates from the site).

    What is DePanorama?
    A community where 360° projects could be easily made, with a nice user interface editor also by empowering the edition of code itself. For coders and non-coders as well.

    Plugins
    A central driven plugin holder for projects. You could take approach of plugins developed by krpano experts.
    Example: many have asked about Social Tags Plugin, and although they're out there, they might be expensive for small or personal projects, these might need advanced knowledge of database/php/javascript/krpano and other stuff, which makes great panos out there to miss it. I've written Social Tagging code for Facebook, Twitter and recently added Google+ social networks.
    I've made other plugins for other stuff too ;)

    I also know you miss Google Maps plugin since they deprecated Flash, so you moved to Bing maps. Know what? I haven't because I already used my own javascript code for Google mapping and connect it to Krpano as well. So it could be taken back to Krpano playyard ;)

    And so on... I have many ideas I'd like others to test.

    Team Work
    Would be nice for teams working on a same project right? Each one adding it's contributions.

    Learning
    I've been in Krpano forums for at least one year and I've trying to help from time to time to those who ask coding stuff. But sincerely, I feel there's a lack of teaching Krpano syntax and capabilities.
    Why not taking Krpano experts and make some webinars and having lessons with good examples according to what people need to learn from basic to advanced stuff for their krpano projects?

    Support
    I've seen many services that offer support online chat. I think we could do that for Krpano too. Having that already know Krpano help you on your projects. People you could chat with.

    Collections
    Collections is a concept I thought about: once people have many projects up in DePanorama. It would be cool that these could be converted into something more meaningfull. With pretty skins, to show those in some fancy ways.

    NOW, the big question is
    Would you support it if I take it to KickStarter? (http://www.kickstarter.com) for trying to collect enough funds so I could dedicate more time and efforce on it's development, pay a designer, etc.
    Tell me sincerely if you would help make this dream become true. Would appreciate sincere answers.

    Whos the heck is Ciul?
    Hi, my name is Luis Carlos Osorio Jayk, I live in Colombia (south america), and I like to say that I am a normal guy from the moon. I love to code in several web languages, to learn, to read, watch movies, ride bicycle and being happy.

    You can freely talk to me as a friend :)
