question

hi
just a question about different loading time using different browsers:

it's normal that there are so huge different loading time from browser to browser?

i'm testing this tour made with last version 1.16.2 multires, on all browsers: http://www.sky360.it/hotel5/tour.html

the loading time is very different from chrome, explorer , and safari, firefox, opera...

the sound is a file of near ~800kb , it's too much? how can i speed up the tour?

Hi,
Quoted from "Birdseye"
Till 1.16.1 everything worked fine (see pic.)
http://www.360vt.be/error/v1_16_1.jpg

But with version 1.16.2, the textfield is just a tiny square (see pic)
http://www.360vt.be/error/v1_16_2.jpg
How do the same look in the HTML5 version?
Was HTML5 working before?
Do you use xml entities in the textfield text?

I don't understand it. When I put the tour online, nothing is working: http://assets.cityzine.be/vt/1037b and not lading at all in Safari.
'html5 version not available.' in Chrome and Firefox.

Think I'm going back to version 1.16.1.

I have tested Chrome and Firefox in Ubuntu and there the contextmenu was working fine.
Basically the contextmenu should work in every HTML5 browser that sends the "contextmenu" event on right-click...

Best regards,
Klaus

Hmm I think I turned off right click context menu change by javascript. And that's what basically happens I think. Ok, clear to me!

Hi,
But on I-devices and Safari, I receive this error: 'Error: HTML5 version not available'
see: http://assets.cityzine.be/vt/1037c
The tour.js in this example was build without embedded html5 viewer and there are also no external krpanoiphone.js and krpanoiphone.license.js files there.

Klaus

Hi,

I´ve noticed some serious performance problems with the new videoplayer-plugin. While a video is showing other actions like simple for-loops, onover-crops, loading-procedures etc. are getting reeeally slow. A normal for-loop, like changing the URL of some plugins, becomes so slow, that you can actually see every loop/graphic change. With 1.15 there were´nt any problems like this. If I just turn the panorama a little, so that the video is´nt on the screen anymore, the performance is just as it was before.

I know that the videoplayer-plugin needs a lot of computing power to show the videos inside a panorama, but since 1.15 this is a huge performance step-back :-(

In Google Chrome (26.0.1410.64m) and IE (9.0.2811) everything seems to be fine, but not in Firefox (20.0.1) and Safari (5.1.7)! Flash Version is 11.7.700.169 and krpano 1.16.1 (build 2013-03-30).

Best regards

That problems seems more to be related to the Flashplayer+Firefox+GPU.
Neither the krpano viewer nor the videoplayer plugin have have changed in a way that could explain such performance differences (please keep in mind that these are still just flash scripts without any native code or hardware access!).

But what is new in 1.16, is that the embedding script uses wmode=direct by default now. In the most cases this should provide a faster and smoother Flashplayer display, but in some rare cases (GPU related?) unfortunately not...

Please try using wmode=window (the default setting in all previous versions) and compare again.
e.g.
embedpano({..., wmode:"window"});

Best regards,
Klaus

Okay, but when the wmode isn't the reason for the performance difference, I have no idea - the pano, hotspot, video rendering is still the same as in 1.0.8.15 in the Flash version...

Can you show the example?

Klaus

Bug control krpano 1.16.2

I use <control keycodesin="16" keycodesout="17" />
And when I move to the next panorama, keys CTRL / SHIFT do not work.

So I had to constantly rewrite control through onnewpano:

set(control.keycodesout, 17);
set(control.keycodesin, 16);

Hi,
And when I move to the next panorama, keys CTRL / SHIFT do not work.
are you using the MERGE or KEEPCONTROL flag in the loadpano/loadscene calls?

I ask because without one of them the <control> will be set back to default when loading a new pano.

Best regards,
Klaus

Yes, I have not used KEEPCONTROL.
Thank Klaus!

Hi Klaus, it looks like in the latest version, the mod function doesn't work ok when uses negative values. Could you please check and confirm this.

say , check this

Quellcode

1
2
3
  set(dir, -480);
  mod(dir, dir, 360);
  trace(dir);

thanks,
Dorin

krpano 1.16.3

Hi,

there is a new minor update for version 1.16:
krpano 1.16.3

Some details about the changes:
  • The xml parsing and resolving of <data> elements in the Flash version has been completely rewritten - now it should be better compatible to older versions and better compatible to HTML5.
  • Loading error messages and fatal-error messages will now be displayed with a 500ms delay - this should avoid misleadingly error messages when quickly leaving or reloading the webpage.
  • In Android stock/WebView-based browsers the CSS3D rendering is now preferred over WebGL by default - the reason for this change was that especially some widespread Samsung Android devices are performing bad with WebGL compared to CSS3D.
  • The krpano tools for Mac are signed now, that means they will now work in OS X 10.8 also with enabled Gatekeeper.

For a detailed list of all changes and fixes, please see here:
Release Notes 1.16.3

OK, so I am trying 1.16.3

I downloaded the new version - but it was only the tools?

DO I need to get newer versions of anything else?

You say you updated some other stuff. Where do I get it?

I had a 1.8.15 project with tooltips.

Now they don't work in 1.16.3

What do I need to do?
I looked at your demo on tooltips for the new version.
But I am lost
