I feel it's gonna be something good for us as developers, as they good plenty of financial resources for developing their product even further than the sony product...
On the other side, I think it's not gonna be good for the users as they will be bring to a whole new dimension of artificial relations and just get more human isolation...
As always as users we need to have the knowledge on how to use technology, and just to take the part that inerest us, and never leave it control us.

Yes, exactly. I hope that my panoramas help encourage people to go see these amazing sights WITH THEIR OWN EYES.
I'm happy for Palmer Lucky, and I'm really proud that he's focused himself so much on making a groundbreaking product. However, I fear for a world where people are engrossed in his product for more than, say, an hour every week (non-professional use).

On Chrome, the plugin is installed but when i try your example the website say that npvr is not found. What the trick to install that plugin ?
I'm using windows 8 on a 64 bits PC

Hi,
normally there should be anything special necessary, but I have already written some recommendations here:
krpano Stereoscopic 3D / Oculus Rift SupportMaybe look also directly on the plugin site for more information/solutions:

Hey guys,
Klaus, as you mentioned it is really difficult to sync two videos and therefore it is practically impossible to create a 360 video inside of krpano.
How would you go about creating a stereoscopic 360 degrees pano for Oculus that would be overlayed (or replaced) by a video and then by another pano again (to create some kind of transition - let's say entering/leaving an object/room/etc). The video would not be 360 degrees but of course it would have to be viewed thru Oculus, too, which means it would need to keep the same fisheye effect as the stereoscopic krpano and be split into two. I assume - despite the fact that the vid wouldn't need to be 360 degrees - this would not be possible either for the same issue with the syncing of videos and I guess there have not been any changes in krpano (yet).Do you have any idea how to achieve this? Drawing the video onto a canvas (left+right with an offset) and applying a fish-eye effect? Any recommendations/advices for a capable fisheye effect js? All the examples I have seen seem to be rather under-performing.
Thanks a lot!

Hi,
support for stereoscopic pano videos for Oculus is on my list, but I think the best solution for this would be using the currently in-work 'WebVR' browser interfaces:

Hello
I just ordered a DevKit2 from Oculus, should be delivered in September.
So as I have to learn to shoot in 3D (probably the method presented by Wim) and to make some test without waiting the Oculus, I also bought a Samsung 3D TV .
Since this morning, I'm trying to display the 3D version of the Indian temple on my TV and always got some issue.I have an iMac 27 inches late 2013 with the nVidia GT755M graphic card.
I made some tests with MacOsX and with Windows 7 using BootCamp. When using the MacOS, the images on the screen have a five centimeters offset when putting the 3D SBS Mode.
When I put a movie in 3D (on a usb stick), there is not this issue.Could someone give some advice how to setup the Mac/Win7/TV/Browser/Whatever to be able to see it in 3D on my TV ?
Best regards
Cedric -
the plugin didn't work with DK2 :(

Maybe that's the TV overscan?
If yes, look at the TV settings for a PC or 1:1 mode.Best regards,

Klaus did you get your hands on a DK2 yet? I got my one last week and would like to get KRPano working on it as it works differently then the DK1.
-
Hi,
I have got my DK2 two days ago, but I'm currently too busy with finishing the 1.18 version, so I hadn't much time testing it (but it the DK2 itself great so far and I have already played a bit with it fixing its Chromatic Aberration Issues ).
I will take a more detailed look at it and krpano support once the new krpano version is ready, but for long-term I still think dedicated support and the WebVR interfaces would be the right way. The current solution by using two viewer instances and the NPVR plugin is only a temporary solution - e.g. it would be very great once the direct output to the rift (=without extended or mirrored monitor) would work directly from the browser.
Best regards,
Klaus -

I received my DK2 earlier this week, but coudn't get it to work with the browser plugin.
Any idea on your schedule (regarding 1.18 and Rift support) yet? I'm dying to start creating tours for the Rift.
Cheers,

No, that would require porting the NPVR plugin to the latest Oculus Rift SDK. Maybe I will try that, but that looks like a lot of work. Adding WebVR support looks way easier, so I will probably try that first.
Any idea on your schedule (regarding 1.18 and Rift support) yet? I'm dying to start creating tours for the Rift.
At the moment I'm planing to finish and to release the 1.18 version (there will be many news here) and once this is done, I will start playing with the Rift support.
Best regards,

Okay, great. If you need it to be tested, let me know!
