Hello,
I'm using a imagemap example and I want to adapting open map to size on mobile/tablet devices. And of course needed resizing when change orientation of the device from landscape to portrait mode.
I spent a lot of time to do the "smart map", but for today my attempts failed! 
To my understanding it was very difficult, I'm sure we need more complex mathematical calculations.
How? Any advise please...

It is important to keep aspect ratio of the image and same time keep screen aspects in consideration. This is something I did in the past using examples provided by Klaus:
