zFlare is a plugin providing a nice lensflare and the possibility to create your own flare compositions.
For this you would need flare images jgp or png and set up <flarespot> elements as shown in the examples.

zFlare does not need zFilter, but you can use it to make the look even more realistic.
For example with brightening, blurring and color shifting the panorama when looking directly into the sun.
All of this works with the existing zFilter plugin, there is no update needed.

zFlare and zFilter are separate plugins, but there is a discount if bought as package

Yes of course, zFilter is made specifically to allow that,

you can change the existing or create completely new lensflares !

you can use your own pngs and set the behaviour for each flare spot as you like.

there are even debugging functionalities, eg set mark="true" to see each spots center and direction.

with zFlare you can create simple and complex flares in every way you like.

you'd have to dive in and experiment, but i'd love to see users making their own flares!

maybe to explain that a bit more :

in the example (see tour-complex xmls) you see the flare spot definitions

you can change the parameters, create new flare spots etc

a <flare> is a set of any number of <flarespot>s

you could copy paste all the flarespots and assign a new flare name (change "summer01" to "myflare")

then you would have the flares "summer01" and "myflare" for use in your scenes.

like this you can have different flares for different scenes,

or even use multiple flares in different positions in the same scene.

zFlare is performance optimized (javascript only) and correctly handles scene changes, enter/exit V, 3D scenes, etc.

in xml you only set the <zflare> element to define the position of the light source

(or define flarespots to have more presets)

i can offer a temporary license for free.

if you create a good lensflare and i can include it in zFlare,

you'll get a permanent license for free.
