[Solved] Krpano Editor and Chrome Version

  • Hi,

yes, that's the Chrome version used in NWJS 0.50.
And that NWJS version was chosen because newer ones had caused problems on some PCs (see the 1.21 release thread).

In another thread someone had an idea that the WeGL context loses might be related to GPU switches (e.g. when you a system with a slow/power-saving GPU and a fast/high-performance GPU and the system switches from one to the other) and that might be the case...

    Best regards,
    Klaus

  • Thanks Klaus, I'm still checking what is wrong in my system that generates the error. The strange thing is that I've had this PC and the same GPU for years, it's now that I get the error, that's why I thought if it was a compatibility problem with the browser.

    Best regards,

"Seems like there is a bug in Chrome for Windows users with some models of the integrated Intel GPUs. As a result, OHIF and/or Cornerstone3D demos may experience rendering issues, with the GPU process consuming an excessive amount of memory for volume viewports. As a result, the webGL context may be lost and the browser crashes.

The bug has been narrowed down to be inside the Chrome and not from us, more especifically the Angle backend component of Chromium. While we are working on reporting this bug, we have a solution that has proven to be effective in fixing this issue which has worked on 4 separate machines having the same issue" (...)

Then: Would it be possible to enable a future solution for these cases with krpano Tools? Would it be useful to install Chrome and try the indicated setting and would that cause a result in krpano Tools?*confused*

    Best regards,

    Fdo.

PD: Testing with krpano tools 1.21.1 (chrome 87.0) and krpano 1.21 (chrome 93) The old 1.20.3 version (chrome 65) runs ok but it doesn't have the nice transition.
