Theoretical image quality

In theory if the view can not be zoomed, which would produce a cleaner, crisper image; as Single-Resolution or Multi-Resolution <image>?

Depends on the viewer window-size and the fov and if the single-res or one of the multires-levels would match better.

That means either they are equal or multires is better.

I'd like to take the opportunity of the topic on image quality to ask if you've done any tests on the use of webp instead of jpg (which seems to be supported by everyone now)?
I've noticed some weight savings for equivalent quality
