Hi guys,
We are working on a project for a museum, we are in the situation of visitors through all generations of tecnical geniuses, we had the discussion about controlling the tour or a good inpud System.
- The first versions were controlled with a big touch panel in front of the 80 inch monitor.
- The other idea is controlled by gestures with a Leapmotion controller.
Both work well for technical visitors. But the system should also do the job for non-technical people and not be in need of assistance.
The system will run on a Windows or Linux based PC and an 80" 4K monitor.
DIY arcade joystick with buttons (Ardroino)
My latest idea is to control the tour with an Ardroino micro or Zero DelaY USB encoder.
- The joystick controls the view
- With the buttons I can switch between the panos, the current button/panorama could be highlighted with the LED.
- The whole thing is placed on a big board with a printed landscape/map and each button is placed in the right position with annotations.....
Does anyone have experience with such a system?
I have already tested:
- With my Asus Ally I can control the view with the joystick.
Next test:
- Possibility to switch between panos with keybord input (mapped keys).
Here is the link to the WiP tour.
Other ideas are also welcome.
Thank you for your input and help.
Best regards
