Hello, I think that in this new era, the era of Krpano's 3D Gaussian Splatting, we should share experiences on how to build projects, that is, from photos (or videos) to obtain .ply and other compatible files. I downloaded Postshot beta-0.6.150. Do you recommend starting there? Best regards.

Hi Fernando,
yes i think that is the go to software (pc only.. unfortunately)..
I don't know it my self but it currently seems to be one of the best.
(Jerome also uses it).Although the workflow can be rather steep, perhaps it is also a suggestion to start with Luma.ai
This works online and the quality is not bad.
With postshot you have more options though.. and in the end a better result.
You can use https://superspl.at/editor/ to edit your splat.
Hope it helps,Tuur

Hi, Fernando
It really depends of your project, My workflow normally is Reality Scanning - PostShot -SuperSplat.
And now KRpano ! I wish to to see a video tutorial how it works and how to combain the GS with regular panorama.
All the best,
Gregory Arbit

Hi, thanks Tuur and Gregory for your answers. I'm really curious to try Postshop, but my video card doesn't support it. My goal would be to create .ply files of places like museum rooms, hotels, or homes from photos or videos. For now, I'm just hoping to achieve acceptable results and then test them in Krpano. I'll keep investigating. Best regards,
Fernando

Hello!
I am currently experimenting with Gaussian splatting for the first time.. To do this, I have written an add-on for Blender that allows you to extract images from 360° videos.
It is very easy to use and many settings can be adjusted as needed.
Here is a short introductory video:
It seems to be a useful workflow and I can't wait to make more 360° videos.
I hope there will be less wind in the next few days..
You can buy UnPano-Renderer on GUMROAD:

Hi Mische,
I have a question about your plugin UnPano Renderer.
When you import a video, does your plugin remove lens distortion automatically or do we have to do it manually ? In the tutorial video, I can see that there is no distortion but I'm not 100% sure so I prefer to ask you.
Thanks

I'm not sure what you mean.
The input video must be equirectangular. The video is then loaded into the world background and the render camera then renders rectangular sections. -
my bad, sorry for the dumb question, I got confused with another video.
So I made the jump, I've been playing around with your add-on and so far I have nothing to complain about, you did a great job !!!
Thank you !
