Panotour + Krpano 1.23.3 package - Fixes and Plugins Compatibity Tests

ADD a custom Krpano Maps Plugin 1.23.3 in Panotour.

(fixed austria json references from maps.xml file seen in console)

Code with comments for easy understand and custom the way you like. This map was based on krpano example´s. You can replace the deprecated panotour map

I will share google maps in a next thread. Klaus comment "I would recommend using 'krpanomaps' instead, that's more flexible and customizable and with fewer external dependencies."

1 - Download panotour project zip file in attachment (Krpano Maps Pantour.zip)

2 - Open and Build (don´t preview)

3 - Copy "Plugins" Folder and files to build folder "indexdata/plugins"

A2 Edit maps.xml

1 In PTP, the includexml plugin you load maps.xml. Here you can setup your maps and spot´s. You can build, will replace with your last edit.

Button Plugin > call custom code (to open the map) > toggle_mapbox();

2 I will not be extensive explaining all the code, but you will see what is what. You can experiment in your way, it´s the best way to learn. Even without any code knowledge, but reading the "puzzle" you can get there and make your custom map, add more spot´s, different tooltips etcc

3 Quick setup for your map ( you can get coordinates in google maps, just righ click in the place, will show the lat and lng coordinates

Onclick ( Go to you pano ID, in this case pano12)

Panotour Deep Linking (url for a specific pano)

Robostither provides an essential navigation plugin for krpano/panotour called GArrows – Google Street View Navigation. It also offers, for free, the Glinks included in GArrows in a more user-friendly way, helping you easily obtain the specific URL of your tour.

Glinks Step´s

1 Download GLinks (2 files glinks.xml and glinks.js)

2 Add Include XML > glinks.xml file

3 Adding glinks.js in your template file:

     OPEN Documents\Kolor\PanotourPro 2\templates\html\htmlpanodiv.tmpl

4 after line 6 ....</div>

5 Build your project. Your index.html file will allways be updated with glinks script.

You can now clicking right click copy the position and panoid URL you want to share.

If you don´t want glinks you just remove the script from your template file or make "true" > "false" for the items you want to hide @ glinks.xml .

Tested here with meta quest 3 your vr thumbnail´s is not working. When clicking appears only close on the floor.

I have created here a quick test with 1 group with 2 panos with vrthumbnails plugin and is working 1.23.3 Meta Quest 3 https://widestudio.pt/vrtest/

What i would sugest :

1 If is not working, save a new kpt project, remove the plugin and add plugin again, jus check panos and groups, or how your tour is organized, and check if is working without any special settings. If still not working try to update to 1.23.3 but could be not be the problem.

You can also test in Desktop how the things going @ Properties

2 Create your VR menu with hotpot´s without plugin´s or coding ( i will make in the future a tutorial with time)

In a quick direction in your case -

1 Menu Pano > Exposure exterior pano to dark

2 Duplicate Menu Pano > Create a hotspot guide like above auxiliar for the hotspot´s to be straight. Design your desired menu and add hotspot´s in the circles or you pano with guides. Test, it´s possíble to move more for the right or left in horizontal menus, because "word´s" have not the same size or you can make a thumbnail with the same size.

When the hotspot´s are well located, and you feel good with your menu, just replace the pano without guides.

The hotspot´s need to have a link to another pano or will not be visible.

3 If is not working and you want to keep vrthumnails menu, back to 1.20.12.

Im currently developing now a vr tour and i needed to create like this "menu´s" tutorial i shared. When finished i will share the link.

For VR experience, sometimes we need to make another tour or link.

1 tour in all devices is some cases not possible, except if is some hotspot´s for few panos

4 If still is not workin and don´t make sense for now to make your own menu, back to 1.20.2 .

Panotour + Krpano 1.23.3 Custom text description w/ blurry effect and images on specific panos experience ( Update Desktop / Mobile Version)

I have been playing lattely with the intregration of krpano with panotour with include xml plugin. Panotour can be just a visual tour design and organization panos and you can create your custom code to avoid some old "plugins".

In this experience, the challenge was to create custom text description´s for each pano and 2 images layer´s in specific, using panotour structure without plugins, only with just include krpano xml file. I apply that fancy blurry effect on the boxes used in a lot of webdesign stuff today.

You can optimize, customize, remove bad code:) etc etc as you like. Hope with this you can dive a little into panotour + krpano possibilities.

The code have comments so will be easy for you to understand what is what. You can optimize this code for you own, add unlimited description´s with copy and paste the block, you need just to update de names of the elements and link to the specific pano.

You need to create fonts folder, and move your font to this folder, as the panotourplugin tutorial. This wil change tour font.

Panotour Pro with krpano versions higher than 1.23 started automatically downscaling for mobile devices.
I then have to edit the file <krpano vrtourdevicescale.desktop="1.0" vrtourdevicescale.tablet="1.0" vrtourdevicescale.mobile="1.5" /> in index_core_xml and change it to 1.5 for mobile devices.

What has changed in the new krpano version 1.23?
Why did Panotour Pro start downscaling for mobile devices like this?

Or change generated html > initial-scale 1.0 this afects only mobile devices

Elements are a little more bigger, play with the value for your case, but the canvas looks over border.

I think best practice is keeping value 1.00 and update the size for mobile version and tablet version buttons

Scale on mobile devices Krpano 1.23.3

Updating Panotour with Krpano 1.23.3 updates de "mobilescale" setting to 0.5

For new tour´s there is no issue you can manually setting the size of the button to this scale (For Superbutton user´s) . Btw in previews tours you need to setup as mobile settings again for this scale.

Just change 0.7 to 1.0 for older tour´s, or remove line

You can play with the setting and check how tour is displayed in mobile devices (Example 0.7 , 0.86 etc)

Tip: Open 2 Panotour´s at the same time for copy setting´s from another tour to a new project.

Sandieboxie Classic ( I use this version) lets you open two Panotour projects at the same time, making it easy to copy settings from one tour to another.

Sometimes we need to copy specific elements from other projects—such as super button settings or other features we want to reuse in a new project. Doing this manually can be time-consuming.

While Panotour offers presets and templates, every project has its own requirements, and often you still need to start from scratch.

I found this free software Sandieboxie that allows you to open another Panotour instance, which makes copying settings between projects much faster and easier.
