Hello,
What audio formats does the sound plugin support? I see that mp3 is supported. Does it support other formats like wav, aac, aif etc?
Thank you.

Hi,
I'm not sure, but I think Flash supports only mp3,
best regards,
Klaus
Would be a nice enhancement to support streaming mp3, the sound interface plugin does not appear to be able to do this. I've tried quite a few steams and none of them appear to work.
Just a thought, it's a nice way to add variety to a tour.

Robert
Is the sound interface plugin still considered Beta?
Any response to the request to support streaming mp3 so internet radio stations could be used as background music ?

Robert
you can put that behind the tour in html..
but no controls then or you make a smaal top area with the html..
Tuur
Thanks Tuur,
It's a good idea as a temporary solution but I'd much rather see it built into the sound plugin as then it would be easier to stop sound, control the volume, etc. from the XML tied to the tour.
Any thoughts Klaus?

Robert

no, sorry, I haven't played with mp3 streaming in any way yet...
btw - any ideas how to setup an mp3 streaming server or are the servers that can be used freely?
best regards,
Klaus
Not sure if this answers your question or not, but there are many free internet radio streams, some have options for paid subscriptions.
One of the bigger free ones is http://www.shoutcast.com/
And yes, it appears that you can become a free DJ if you want to

But perhaps ACC would be better to support. According to the wiki entry Flash v9.3 and above supports ACC.

But perhaps it's all as simple as enabling support for parsing m3u files?

Flash should support several other formats
"Flash Player now supports video compressed in H.264 (MPEG-4 Part 10), audio compressed using AAC (MPEG-4 Part 3), the F4V, MP4 (MPEG-4 Part 14), M4V, M4A, 3GP and MOV multimedia container formats, 3GPP Timed Text specification (MPEG-4 Part 17) which is a standardized subtitle format and partial parsing support for the 'ilst' atom which is the ID3 equivalent iTunes uses to store metadata."

I was using JW Player to play my audio as MP4 before, so most of the audio I've built up so far is in mp4. Trying to load them with the soundinterface plugin crashes my browser though. Not sure whether there are any plans to invest more resources in the soundinterface plugin, but personally I would love it if it could handle mp4 files.
