Hello,
I've upgraded with 1.19 version but I don't know how to tell the viewer not to show watermark for more than 1000 old panos (v1.08 to 1.17) in the base.
I've been successfully registred, but - if my understanding is correct - only new panos will be free of watermark. I've put the new viewer.js in the folder at which the old panos are referenced to, but I still see the watermark.
Moreover, I guess that also the new license files have to be placed, but I do'nt know which ones and where.
I have to say that this new version corrects a bug that prevents the menus to be blocked when dragging the pano (v.1.17); that's the reason why I want to use this new version!
Thanks
Philippe
Hi,
I've upgraded my 2010 Mac with OS X 10.8.5 (I was 10.6.8 before). I'm waiting since 2 years for changing my Mac but the new Mac is not still there and I don't want to buy an 3 years old Mac.
All was working fine with 10.6.8 but now I get a black screen with "xml failed to load". I don't understand that message as panoramas work on Safari, Firefox and Opera. I know that Chrome is no more updated on old OS X but this is not an xml problem, so why ?
Is there a work around to display panos on Chrome ?
Thanks
Philippe
Solved : I've found an example that fits my need
Hi,
I'm sure I'm wrong, but I don't know why this doesn't work :
<include url="plugins/showtext.xml" />
<textstyle name="style1" font="Arial" fontsize="18" />
<action name="test">
showtext('[b][i]my text is here[/i][/b]', style1);
</action>
Is quite simple, but I didn't use krpano for a long time.
Thanks for your help
Hi Klaus,
Thanks for your response.
You're right, I tried your method and it seems that there is a problem with the provider as there's no problem with wifi.
The provider said it also may be the sim card... I'll go further and I will tell you the end of the history.

Philippe
I've made a test, changing config file to 800x800 tablet faces size, instead of 1024x1024. It works better : only 2 images don't load (back and front), so I've compressed them manually so they are half size, about 60kb each. And now it works fine, but not at the maximum of its possibility.
It's clear that there is a limitation somewhere : it can't be the script (automatically generated) so it is either my iPhone config, or an internet provider cause.
So my conclusion, after lot of tries, is that my problem is directly linked to the size of the dowloaded file : what I mean is that krpano doesn't see the complexity of the image when generating cube faces, and e.g. a grass ground may give a 450kb tablet file as a painted ground can give a 40kb one. The thing I want to know is why large tablet files do not work on my iPhone and work fine on the others !
Can someone point me towards the origin of the problem ?
Thanks,
Philippe
Hi Klaus,
Thanks for your response.
I've spent say 2 or 3 days (I've already sent a post on Feb 8) with different combinations, clearing data, cookies, history cache in Safari, trying lot of different panoramas, changed xml, html, manually downsized the faces, read the forum etc... If I don't clear the cache, the previously loaded images appear, until all unloaded images succeed to load...and I get the complete panorama, but if I clear again the cache, I have to start from beginning. I can't understand. What I can say is that the up face loads often alone; but maybe because it's the lighter one : could you tell me what is the loading order for the faces ?
How could I force the Level 1 tiles to load on iPhone ? (maybe not html5 compatible - as I can see when I try)
Just now, I've updated iOS 5.1 : nothing changed.
The problem is that if I'm sure that it will work on the customer's iPhone (if he has one), it will not work with mine when I"ll show him what I can do with krpano :°)
Thanks for your help

Hi,
Tablet images don't load on my iPhone 4s : I get error message : "loading of tablet_d.jpg failed" and so on for most of images. The only way I've found to see something appear is to replace tablet_%s.jpg with mobile_%s.jpg in xml file... but quality is not there. I thought that internet speed was the cause but I get 360kbps for downloading and it seems to be sufficient. The tablet tiles are 1024x1024; it may be too large, but if there is a problem with the size, why doesn't krpano use the level1 tiles ?
I've tried with many kinds of panoramas but nothing works.
Could you please test these links on your iPhone or iPad and tell me what happens... and what is your opinion about this problem.

Hi Jarredja,
Thanks for your try.
So I guess it may be an internet access provider problem.
I'll look into this today.
Thanks for your help

Hi Hans,
Thanks for your response.
You're right; I didn't read the documentation enough.
However, the problem stays : the tablet cube faces fail to load. I've spent this afternoon trying to find why but I didn't succeeded.
I've tried with 3 other panoramas, with many combinations, replaced swf, js, html files many times... but no result.
I've tried with different user agent in desktop Safari, but unfortunately, choosing iPhone/iPad loads normal faces, instead of intended tablet ones.
here is my xml :
<krpano version="1.0.8.14" >
<plugin name="gyro" url="gyro.js" keep="true" enabled="true" camroll="true" friction="0.5" velastic="0.2" />
<view hlookat="0" vlookat="-35" fovtype="MFOV" fov="90" />
<preview url="pano/preview.jpg" />
<image>
<cube url="pano/pano_%s.jpg" />
<mobile>
<cube url="pano/mobile_%s.jpg" />
</mobile>
<tablet>
<cube url="pano/tablet_%s.jpg" />
</tablet>
</image>
</krpano>

Only up and down (or down ...or none) cube faces load.
Changed also ftp...
It seems that gyro.js stops working after loading 1 or 2 (sometimes 3) cube faces.
After multiple loadings (20-30), I can see the entire panorama, but if I clear the iPhone cache...nothing loads again.
Maybe you'll have more luck than me at :
http://www.via-caesar.fr/test/pano.html
or
http://www.via-caesar.fr/test/pano2.html
Any idea?
Thanks for your help

Hi,
Why do the tablet cube faces load on my iPhone instead of mobile ones ?
This way, the loading stops after the down face is loaded, and the error message comes saying that the other cube faces loading failed.
I've looked inside html and xml files and all seems to be ok (I use gyro.js plugin)
(KRpanoJS 1.0.8.14 - iPhone4S - IOS 5.01 - Safari5.1)

Hi Tuur,
Thanks for your response.
I've tested path as this : I put the buttons in the plugins folder; resulting that no more buttons on the page. I copied the path of the Xmail plugin url and pasted to the buttons url : resulting that buttons appeared again. More, I duplicated the plugin at the first level, changing path...of course. The same result.
That said, why doesn't Safari tell me "Xmail.swf not found" as usually for other plugins?
Loaded again the zip file also...
Is there something else I can do?
Regards
Philippe
Hi Jean-Philippe
Thanks for sharing !
Example works fine, but I get null result when I put it in my project. I've copied the script in the main xml file, copied folder in sites folder, launched Mamp server, and all I get is :
WARNING: unknown action: plugin[xmail].send
INFO: OS : null - null
INFO: eMail: null
INFO: Error: null
More, I can't see the loaded plugin in Safari console, although all other plugins are loaded.
I guess I missed something but I can't find what.
Any help, please?
Thanks,
Philippe
Hi Panomaster,
Thanks for your response. You're right ! It works now.
So stupid mistake !

Hi,
I'm trying to set the new scene to the yaw of the closing panorama by hovering the button which leads to this new panorama.
I write :
onhover="set(pan,get(view.hlookat);trace('PAN : ',get(pan);"
onclick="loadscene(scene0, null, MERGE, BLEND(1)); set(view.hlookat,get(pan)); trace('PAN : ',get(pan);"
All seems OK to me, but I even not get the pan with trace command... and if I get this pan variable, I don't know if it will set the new panorama to the right yaw.
Any help please?
Thanks,
Phil
Hi Tuur
Thanks for your response.
I've found the problem : there is a 80px wide surface on the left of the panorama where the handcursor appears; that means that there is an invisible thing (hotspot or plugin) which deactivate the click area. I've searched and found another unused kind of ✌♃☢☝⚠☹☃♆☂ thumbs scroller which had no thumbs to display... so it was invisible. As it was at the same place than the krpano image-gallery plugin, it was difficult to find.
...four hours later... :°)

Hi,
I'm trying to insert Image-Gallery (flat ones) in a tour. The thumbs do not respond as they should; I only can click sometimes on one or two thumbs... and sometimes it doesn't work at all !
More, I don't think that the way I hide them from the other scenes is a good way: I repeat the create_thumbbar procedure in each scene with parameters set to zero : zero image at 0,0 pixels size - and the thumbs do not appear in those scenes. Is there any other cleaner way, and how can I improve the click problem?
Thanks for your help
Phil
Thanks Klaus !
Seems to work on a small piece of my script; I'll try for the entire project.

I would like to use a placeholder for hotspots direction1...direction48 in order not to repeat setblend action in each scene (also all hotspot have to be declared at the begining of the xml for practical reasons)
how do I manage these placeholders. I looked at tutorials, but I don't understand all...)
declaring hotspots :
<hotspot name="direction1" style="hotspot_anim" zorder="5" visible="true" enabled="true" ath="-232" atv="-32" keep="true" onclick="loadscene(scene1, null, MERGE, BLEND(1)); " />
<hotspot name="direction2" style="hotspot_anim" zorder="5" visible="true" enabled="true" ath="-102" atv="22" keep="true" onclick="loadscene(scene2, null, MERGE, BLEND(1)); " />
...<hotspot name="direction48"...
hide hotspots at start :
<action name="start">
set(hotspot[direction1].visible,false);
set(hotspot[direction2].visible,false);
...set(hotspot[direction48].visible,false);
</action>
making first hotspot visible in scene :
<scene name="scene1" onstart="action(startscene);set (hotspot[direction1].visible,true ));">
addcube(pano1);
addcube(pano2);
setblend(0);
</scene>
setblend action in global.xml :
<action name="setblend">
<plugin name="slider_grip" url="slider_grip.png" align="left" edge="center" parent="slider_bg" x="0" zorder="2"
dragging="if(pressed,
sub(dx, mouse.stagex, drag_stagex);
add(newx, drag_currentx, dx);
if(newx LT 0, set(newx,0));
if(newx GT plugin[slider_bg].pixelwidth, copy(newx,plugin[slider_bg].pixelwidth));
if(newx LT 0.5, set (hotspot[direction1].visible,true ));// if slider_grip is on pano1, direction1 is visible
if(newx LT 0.5, set (hotspot[direction2].visible,false ));//if slider_grip is on pano2, direction2 is not visible
if(newx GT 0.5, set (hotspot[direction1].visible,false ));//if slider_grip is on pano2, direction1 is not visible
if(newx GT 0.5, set (hotspot[direction2].visible,true ));//if slider_grip is on pano2, direction2 is visible
(.../... removed useless script) );"
/>
</action>
