Hi Klaus!
There seems to be a typo in the release notes, it should be "events" io "event" all over the place.
Hi Klaus!
There seems to be a typo in the release notes, it should be "events" io "event" all over the place.
AFAIK the last available glibc on FC4 is 2.3.something
So you are a bit out of luck as the latest tools require 2.4 compatibility.
Fedora is now at version 12, so you are a couple of releases behind ;)
Hi Klaus!
Just hitting a small bug here...
The encrypt part of the kprotect GUI will fail if you have a non-ascii character in the path of the file you want to encrypt (e.g. a directory with an accentuated character in its name).
Not a real problem once you know that, but took some time to understand what was happening...
Great, thank you!
No emergency on my side, I can wait for the next release
Just seeing this one...
Additional food for though: This is only an issue for multi-site license. The ways it is currently sold, if you have multi-site, then you also have the tools, and KRProtect is your friend: you can easily generate a krpano.swf for all your sites and there is no need to expose your license key.
I have nothing against the idea of having the license owner in the context menu, but I don't feel it's really needed.
Thanks for looking at this.
I have stripped down my html/xml to a minimum to illustrate my issue:
I want to get my images from /upload/panos/... but they are loaded from /krpano/absolute/upload/panos/...
Hello everybody!
In the XML files, is there a way to use absolute path in urls, but without specifying the http:// ?
I would expect url="path/file" to be relative, and url="/path/file" absolute, but it is not: the path of the current XML is always prepended.
Although there is a workaround by setting enough '../../' in the URL, it is a bit a pain...
right, I just forgot to implement it
check out the new version (2010-01-05), now it works,
Yep it works! (and I like the rename option as wel )
Hi Klaus!
This new kencrypt tool rocks, I really like it
I am running into 2 issues though -- none of them being a big deal, but a bit annoying (Tools 2009-12-30 release, reproduced on both OS-X Snow Leo 64 bits and Debian Lenny 32 bits)
First, the overwrite option 'ow' is not recognized:
$ ~/bin/krpanotools-1.0.8-beta9/kencrypt -ow $PWD/pano.xml
option: [ow]
kencrypt
ERROR: invalid or bad argument: -ow
Second, it seems to work only if you specify full path for the files:
# The following does not work
$ ~/bin/krpanotools-1.0.8-beta9/kencrypt pano.xml
kencrypt
ERROR: no input files
# While this one works
$ ~/bin/krpanotools-1.0.8-beta9/kencrypt $PWD/pano.xml
kencrypt
encrypt: [pano.xml] -> [pano.xmle]
... and cherry on the cake, it would be nice to be able to use it as a filter/pipe -- I mean being able to do something like e.g.:
This example as such is useless, but I am thinking of using kencrypt to encode xml generated dynamically (e.g. in php) and a pipe is much more easy and efficient than playing with temporary files...
Both are working in term of cursor, but unfortunately I need to have both on "true" as I do have children.
My prefered workaround for the time being is not to use the custom cursors, and keep consistently the arrow.
Yep, otherwhise I would have a hand, not an arrow...
My testcase is not online, but I just have
<plugin name="backgnd" url="backgnd.png"
keep="true" visible="true" zorder="10" alpha="0.4" enabled="true" capture="false" handcursor="false"
align="bottom" width="100%" height="100" x="0" y="20"
/>
In the 'buttons' example file
Mmmmh...
I'm afraid it does not...
Still reverts back to the arrow when I hover my plugin (which is just a PNG image)
NFO: krpano 1.0.8 beta 9 DEV (build 2009-10-21)

Hi!
I just came across the following: if you are using the user-defined mouse cursors and hover a plugin with 'handcursor="false"', then the cursor reverts to the default arrow.
Is this intended behaviour?
(When I have 'enabled="true" capture="false" handover="false"', I would like to keep the same mouse cursors inside or outside the plugin)
Tnx
Hi Klauss!
Reading your code raises 2 questions...
First, you are using backup_* parameters in your hotspot definition. Are these real hotspot parameters, or can you actually bind any variable to a hotspot? (This might be interresting to define hotspot or plugins variables/properties...)
Secondly, your flyout/flyback actions do specify a 'scope' for the variables -- I would have expect to see something like 'hotspot[spot].rx' and not just 'rx'...
There seems to be some inheritance; how does this work and how can we differenciate between a 'local' variable with the same name?
Thank you in advance for the clarification.
Great
Thanks again for your attention!
I think I am running into a kcube2sphere bug (1.0.8 Beta 7 on OS X)
1. The 'size=' parameter seems to be ignored (whatever I give, I always get the same size)
2. The computed size for tif is the expected one (cube side * PI), but it is much smaller for jpegs...
There is a version for ktransform and kmaketiles for linux ?
Yes sure
(Not the latest Beta version though)
Why don't you just run ktranfrom from PHP?
Graydon, Yes, but the problem is this is a site where authors upload panoramas from diferent parts of latin america, and the server has to do everything automatically so krprotect is of no use in this way (or so I think)
Well, I had that in mind as well, and as you can see in this thread, we will have a linux command line version of the tool, which means we will be able to 'krprotect ' on-the-fly.
That might be even more robust than the whole session shebang, and definitely easier to implement.
