    Hi All,

It has been a really long time since I posted in here and hope you guys can help.
I am looking to create a quite fast paced automatic tour. On the click of a button, for example, the user will be taken down a corridor, turn left, continue down that corridor, turn right then stop outside a door. Think of a hotel, going from reception to a bedroom. There will not be more than 1 or 2 seconds in each scene until reaching the destination.
The tour has been shot with equally spaces panos to make relatively smooth.

Basically, I want to be able to load the scenes in and then move between them, controlling the delay between them (max 1 second when moving forward, a bit slower when turning a corner).

I would like to add a quick zoom before loading the next scene to simulate moving forward.

I do not mind if this is very repetitive code as I will probably end up building the XML from a database.

I have looked at the Bomb Timer and Timer Autotour from Andrey but I'm really rusty and can't see how to make it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Tommy

    Hi to2hov,

I really like your pano, very slick.
I have tested it in 1920 x 1200 and it is OK, could be smoother.

I was experimenting some time ago with animated swf hotspots but I found that they made the rendering of the pano itself less smooth.
I was trying a more complex effect than your simple (but very effective) hotspots but I gave up because I was never happy with the over all performance.

If I were you I'd try removing the hotspots and see if it still runs poorly on your 1920 x 1080 screen.

I know this won't solve you problem but it might point you in the right direction.

    Thanks.

    Hi Klaus,

    Thanks for the clarification.
If the onresize is called when a new pano loads is there any way I can call an action when the pano is resized that does not use the onresize event?

    Thanks for your help.

PS. Thanks to VN2009 and jpdeglet69 for their confirmations.

    Hi all,

It's been a while since I posted but I have a bit of a problem that I hope someone can help with.
I have a tour with multiple scenes and I want to run an action on the onresize event.
However, when the user clicks a hotspot and the scene changes it appears that my onresize action is executed.

Is it that the onresize event runs automatically when a new scene is loaded?

If so has anyone found a way to get round it so that my action only runs when the pano is actually resized?

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi there,

I think your tour is very good. Great quality.
I notice that you have disabled movement until the full pano has loaded.
I can understand why you have done this but I personally would like to look around even if it is not fully loaded.

    Great minimalist interface.

    Excellent.

    Hi Laurent,

I really like your tour. The location is bautiful and makes we want to go and visit!
Nice seamless tripod removal, no sign of shadows or anything.

Great tour and location, I for one was fully immersed.

I would consider creating custom control icons and hotspots but they don't detract from a great tour.

    Thanks for sharing with us.

    Hi bri999,

I think the pano head you built looks very strong and well made and you definitely have engineering skill.
In the blog post I saw that you used the new head to create a Gigapixel image, I'd love to see the pano that this formed as I also make large 360 x 180 gigapixel panos and I'm always keen to see similar works.

    Thanks.

    I agree with MDS.

They will never be able to deliver the quality of work that specialist panographers(?) can.
They wouldn't undertake all the special features that KRpano allows its users to create either such as floorpnas, embedded video and sound etc.
Equally, what benefit will a shop keeper get from a low rez pano in their shop? True they would get some exposure but the user would not be able to engage in the product range or anything of any sales benefit to the shopkeeper.
In retail at least the product range can change from day to day, week to week as can the layout of the store, promotional point of sale literature etc. so that in not very long the store could bear no resemblance to the Google pano and I doubt Google will be coming back very often.

Anyway, if worst comes to worst then we can all go and work for Google *tongue*

    Hi Jarredja,

You are right, it was a different site.
I just signed up with a different user name and it worked.
It is the same software and not much seems to have changed, not that I can see.

    Let us know Bocaguy.

I'd be interested on hearing other peoples views about the sotware from users of the forum.

    Thanks.

    Hi Bocaguy,

I had a look at this a few weeks back when you first posted about it.
I commented that I didn't think it would help me because it would not speed up my pano process and was too expensive.
I notice that you have taken the pricing down off the site, have you made the product more affordable too?

My trial has expired now but I'd be keen to know if you had ironed out the unintuitive interface and found a more powerful way of adding hotspots?

    Thanks.

    Hi Klaus,

I've just voted to push forward with Flash10 only.
Usually I'm all for catering for older plugins/browsers to accommodate more users but for me at least it is simple:
With KRpano tours on my website I am promoting them as something special (which I think they are) and as such if some users have to perform a tiny upgrade then so be it; they will be better for it anyway.
Already you create killer features that are genuinly useful to me and if going Flash10 only means the features will become more powerful then I'm all for that.

    Thanks
