Hi Klaus,
Do you think it is technically possible to play 3D360 video in a side-by-side layout? current I have to giveup half of the resolution to fit 2 spherical video into 1920x960 for displaying my content in other mobile apps. thx

sorry for my long delay, been on travelling.
It turns out that my Firefox was causing the issue. I have no problem with Chrome browser and Firefox on Mac so it's not an Amazon S3 specific issue. Anyway, I just signed up bluehost for hosting the video, so far it can display video with atom metadata as fast start. It also has 23 global CDN for speeding up your service at no extra cost :) Since they have a CDN in my city, I don't feel much difference in performance.

Hi,
We saw this video displaying a full frame rectilinear video at the beginning, and changed to spherical video in the middle (the elevator section). That would be more flexible for displaying tour in this way. Can krpano do this? overlaying another video plugin for certain time period? thanks.

thanks and understood the half-width issue. shall try playing around the HFOV or VFOV to fit in the screen.

Hi Klaus,
I followed the stereo3D tutorial and did a SBS viewer on a 3D projector. Since the screen was splitted into 2, each of the window shows a viewport at the desired FOV. Although the splitted image was squeezed horizontally (when compared with the mono-vision QTVR, the door became narrower), but the 3D image seems became over stretched horizontally (fat) on 3DTV or projector, and it was not a natual look. The Rift version have no problem, but we want to put it on a 3D big screen to wow more auidence. Can we do something quick on krpano script to make the scene look more normal on the 3DTV? simply changing the FOV do not fix the issue.
btw, for the gyro control, it there a way to lock the roll factor? user enjoy changing the FOV by rotating their headset, but rolling the phone is not a pleasant expierence on the 3D screen. Thanks.
Here is the xml file I used:
Code
Display More<krpano> <view fovtype="VFOV" fov="90" fovmin="30" fovmax="150" /> <contextmenu fullscreen="false" /> <plugin name="gyro" devices="html5" url="gyro.js" enabled="false" camroll="true" friction="0" velastic="0" onloaded="switch(plugin[gyro].enabled);" /> <events onmousedown="set(syncother,true); events.onviewchange();" onmousewheel="events.onmousedown();" onviewchange="if(syncother, if(side == left, js( sync_1to2() ); , js( sync_2to1() ); ); );" /> <image> <cube url="panos/%$cubepath%%$cubepathsidepostfix%/pano_%s.jpg" /> </image> </krpano>

Hi Tuur,
Thanks for your great work, shall study for doc and try on my video. I saw a moving video hotspot in http://loop-in.com/galerie/ but their plugin was not open to public or for sale. When will be the final version ready? thx

Hi,
You may check the krpano stereoscopic guide in this page .
Once the SBS krpano page was loaded, switch on the 3D function on your TV or projector and viola!
Making stereo3d panorama could be challenging as you have to rotate more often than usual to get the parrallax fixed, but not very good if you were in a fast moving place. The Aussie Guru Peter has a nice blog telling the details.
Anyway, I prefer doing it in a snapshot and more likely to shoot in some crowded or compact space, thus the insane 12-cam solution by heros360 do not fit well in my case. So, I'm making my own stereoscopic 360 video system. It shall able to make 6000x3000@24 stereo-video when it's ready
Here is a sample frame from my early prototype: back stair (SBS-3DTV)
The sample is gyro enabled so iphone users can view the space with Hasbro's my3D or print yourself a FOV2GOI can post the rift version if any Oculus Rift owner want a try.

Hi,
I'm building my own 3D 360 camera and trying the the stereoscopic demo v2. However, the vlookatmin setting was not working.
I tried to set at -75, but it turns out I still can see the nadir in full. I also tried to use the SET method after the pano was loaded, but it was not working too. just like the demo, both left & right side share the same xml file. I read from some older post that the view setting will be reset when new pano was loaded. but in my case, the values were the same. can someone help me out? thanks.

Sorry, but I can't answer that, I have never shoot or stitched a stereoscopic (not stereographic) pano by myself, but it seems shooting and stitching is a bit more complex here.
Not with the current setup, loading and playing two video streams at the same time might be difficult to sync. Eventually later with a special version and only one video stream, but then when the resolution will be probably a bit low - e.g. when putting two full spherical videos side by side into one 1920x1080 full hd video, that would be only 960x1080px per pano which equals a roughly a cube-side resolution of only 306x172px and this is very low, probably too low...
Beside of this - I don't know if recording stereoscopic pano videos is possible...Best regards,

Can you explain further how bad the lag when playing a 360 video with the new script? The loading time of your 360 still demo was quite slower than it's usual. Sometimes ago I tried displaying a 4k 360 video on a SBS splitted screen as the same way as told in the javascriptsync demo, the lag was 'ok' for a dual 1920x1080 display but very bad on a triple display setup. Not sure on the rift.

Hi,
just updated to v1.16.4 and made a new 360 with it. However, there are 2 lines showing the krpano & flashplayer build number under the About Krpano line. Is there any way to hide just these 2 lines? It's a bit trunky to me. thx
this is the xml setting in the skin file:
<contextmenu>
<item caption="Powered by .com" />
<item caption="FULLSCREEN" />
<item caption="normal view" onclick="view_normal();" separator="true" />
<item caption="little planet view" onclick="view_littleplanet();" />
</contextmenu>here is the 360:

Hi,
I've seem many great 360 video from heros360.com & freedom360.us, most of these video were hosted in Amazon S3. So, I'm trying to duplicate one and replaced with my video. however, the streaming was not successful.
I've created a public bucket in S3 and make it a streaming distribution via Cloudfront. The file metadata "content-type" already changed to "video/mp4"
In the xml for the 360 video, I tried this:
The progress bar was moving so the streaming seems happening, but there were loads of error: security error error #2123. and, the video was not visible, only audio was playing. I've checked the other thread some user suggest to add a setting file to the streaming server to allow video sample, but the S3 do not have such parameter.
Here is the link of the testing pageIf I put the direct video link from the S3 bucket, no streaming happened and I could only play the video once it was fully cached.
I studied some 360 video samples and they were just using http for streaming:
Code<plugin name="video" url="plugins/videoplayer.swf" alturl="plugins/videoplayer.js" videourl="https://360hero.s3.amazonaws.com/360video/2013-OMSI/omsi_2013.mp4" loop="true" volume="1.0" buffertime="5" onvideoready="do_time_bar(video,null,bottomleft,null,100%,8,0,0,false,10);" />
Did I make anything wrong? I just want to have the same playback quality as the sample. thanks.

Hi,
I'm trying to playback a spherical video with the video player plugin. I tried to embed the XML and the skin graphics. The checklist interface highlighted the video (with type as panoramic image) in red color. Knowing that the video file couldn't be embedded, I excluded it from the list. The ktprotect then generated a new swf file, and I update the HTML accordingly, with the path to XML removed too. The resulting 360 video displayed smoothly on local. However, after I uploaded it to my server, the HTML simply showing the title and a black screen, even not a warning or error message. I did not enable domain restriction in the setting. Did I make anything wrong in the workflow? Thx

finally got the chrome browser to show the cave tour in full screen. (The F11 hotkey was not working, pick it from the menu instead)
I changed the equirectangular format to 6 cubic faces and the overall performance was improved.
Taking photo at a few steps away cannot tell the immersive-ness. Here is the experience when your head was at the sweet spot of my setup:

the FOV issue was solved when I set the table size to 3x square, i.e. 5760x1080
The snapshot of the setup goes here:
http://s22.postimg.org/ci4p4uje9/5760_test.jpgIt looks much better when your head was in the middle of the screens. The screen look more yellowish when I take a snap at a big angle.
again, the full-screen function look strange at the outerous sides:
http://s11.postimg.org/7tuyctfxv/5760_fullscreen.jpgTo improve the display quality, I updated the cubeview sample with a recent pano we took these days. you can play at this link:
http://www.izugar.com/demo/js_sync/js-sync-cubeview.htmSome new issues:
1) When I export as a cubic strip from PTGUI, the top & bottom tile was not oriented correctly. any way to get it around easily?
2) Then I export as 4000x2000 sphere for testing. It work normally but the 3rd "face" was moving very slowly in my old core2duo macbookpro. I believe the cubic strip shall be much less demanding.
3) Since I set the table size to 5760x1920, there are some room for vertical scrolling, which seems not perfect for deploying to client's office. Is there anyway to solve it?
4) I'm not sure why the demo watermark appear on the screen. should I upload the license file here? just wonder if it was safe.Sorry for loads of newbie questions. Thanks in advance

Hi,
I'm testing to make a desktop version of the CAVE system with krpano. With AMD eyefinity, I set 3 22" monitors as a single desktop and tried the following page:https://krpano.com/examples/js-sync-cubeview/
by changing the table size to 5760x1000px with Chrome's tool, the sync faces were able to move together in full screen. Here is the video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=14XEEFlw4XQ
The pano in the sample was in low resolution so the resulting "CAVE" quality is not in good, but at least the concept looking good.
the XML files (view_l / view_f / view_r) were forcing each faces to be exactly 90 degree. however, the view in each screen were not "well connected" to the adjacent screens: each were showing more than it should be and duplicated building was observed. can someone help?below is the screen capture of the desktop:
http://s23.postimg.org/icrwqg7gb/cubeview_test1.jpgIf the FOV issue was clear, three 55" display will be a stunning mini CAVE system.

onnewpano="playsound(bgsnd, '1.mp3|1.ogg', 0);"
/>
HI I'm a newbie and facing the same problem. I'm using krpano 1.16.3 - "Default Virtual Tour Skin". I have no problem in playing a global bg sound with a single pano, but it doesn't work with virtual tour. I edited the vtourskin.xml and added the soundinterface pluginCode<!-- load the soundinterface plugin --> <plugin name="soundinterface" url="%SWFPATH%/plugins/soundinterface.swf" alturl="%SWFPATH%/plugins/soundinterface.js" rootpath="" preload="true" keep="true" />
and I added the following code in the tour.xml
Code<!-- start playing the sound --> <events name="currentpano" onnewpano="playsound(bgsnd, '008a.mp3|008a.ogg', 0);" />
but no sound were playing anyhow. can anyone help? thx
