KRPano Autolevel

Hi,

I am trying to figure out how to correct the horizon on a set of panos in a KR Pano vTour. The "roll" values are off due to the capture method of the photos. My photos have yaw, pitch, roll values.

Is there a tool I can use to correct the horizon during the vTour processing? My research lead me to the Autolevel setting but I haven't been able to figure out how to make it work for me?

Does the Autolevel setting work based off Yaw Pitch Roll values or EXIF values (X, Y, Z).

Hi,

Sorry I can't answer that question, I didn't even know it may be possible in krpano, I hope someone can help you, or tell you if it is possible.

But if krpano can't do it, Hugin is an open-source software that can let you take a bad horizon equi and set it perfect in few clicks (yaw, pitch and roll are available).

You can find basic leveling freatures in the krpano Tools:

- open krpano Tools
- go to VTour Editior
- open your tour
- edit pano type
- Set north and level pano

About 'auto-leveling' - yes, this is done based on EXIF gyro values (when there are one).

I am familiar with the manual editing of the leveling. On smaller dataset I have done this, but I have over a dataset with over 100 panos. I'm looking for an semi-automated method of leveling each pano.

What a great feature Klaus ! How did I miss it ? The idea of being able to change with projection's settings an image already computed is so brilliant.

@MA, not sure this help, but perhaps if your panos all have the same (or pretty close) problem and you want to automate the process, probably you will only have to copy and paste the parameters that this option Klaus mentionned probably do in the scene xml and apply it to all scenes.

Hi,

for fully automatic leveling, gyroscope data would be necessary.

Without such data, the leveling would need to be done on the actual 'image-content', which can be pretty complex.
But such might be a good job for an AI system...

Beside that, the manual leveling in the krpano Tools can be quite fast, at least faster than doing the same in the stitcher by drawing vertical lines and it can be anytime adjusted without reprocessing.

If the gyro is correct, then the krpano tools will also be able to level the pano automatically, no scripts needed .
